The operationalisation of the Kamirithu VTC Cabro-Making Unit in Limuru Central Ward marks an important step towards improving infrastructure and services across Limuru Municipality.
The facility will locally produce quality cabro blocks, road kerbs, shallow drains and drainage channels, providing essential materials for road improvement, drainage works and town beautification within the Municipality.
Having these materials produced locally will support faster and more efficient implementation of projects, while contributing to better roads, improved stormwater management and cleaner, more attractive urban spaces across Limuru.
The unit will also create opportunities for young people in Limuru by equipping them with practical skills, work experience and opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to make Limuru Municipality more vibrant, resilient and better equipped to meet the infrastructure and economic needs of its growing population.

As part of ongoing El Niño preparedness efforts, members of the Apex Disaster Preparedness Committee, together with teams from Limuru Water and Sewerage Company and Limuru Municipality, visited key flood-prone areas across Limuru Town.
The team assessed existing and ongoing drainage works at Manguo Swamp, Limuru Goat Market, Limuru Food Market and the Limuru Bus Park, focusing on storm-water management and the town’s preparedness ahead of the anticipated El Niño rains.
The assessment will help identify critical drainage challenges and priority areas requiring intervention to enhance flood resilience and protect businesses, residents and other town users.

Limuru Municipality was ably represented at the ECDE Table Tennis Tournament held at Bahati Model ECDE Centre in Thika. The event brought together young talents from across the region, providing an opportunity for our ECDE learners to showcase their skills, teamwork and competitive spirit.

A 12-metre culvert at Limuru Goat market that had remained clogged for over 15 years has finally been cleared, restoring the flow of storm water and addressing a long-standing challenge for traders and residents.
A new manhole is now being installed to improve access for maintenance and help prevent future blockages.

The construction of the Limuru Sub-County Offices has reached approximately 80% completion, with major structural works complete and finishing works now underway. Following an inspection led by the Director of Administration, Celina Kathure, alongside the Contract Implementation Team, County technical officers, Limuru Municipal Manager Philip Mubea and the contractor, the team assessed the progress, quality and ongoing works, including internal partitioning, floor finishes and painting. The project is part of H.E. Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi’s efforts to improve public service infrastructure and service delivery, and once complete, the facility will provide a better working environment for staff and enhance access to County services for residents of Limuru and surrounding areas.
