The Madaraka Day celebrations in Limuru Municipality were successfully held in Ndeiya bringing together residents and stakeholders to commemorate this important national occasion.
During the event, the Municipal Manager, Dr. James Kamau, read H.E Governor Kimani Wamatangi's speech, highlighting the County Government’s commitment to service delivery, infrastructure development, environmental conservation, and improved livelihoods for the people of Limuru and Kiambu County at large.
The celebrations provided an opportunity for residents to reflect on the significance of Madaraka Day, celebrate the nation’s progress, and reaffirm their shared responsibility in building a prosperous and united community.

The County Government of Kiambu County wishes to notify all developers with unapproved buildings to regularize their plans as required by law. All affected developers are advised to submit their applications to their respective Sub-County Physical Planner on or before 31st May, 2026.
Approval timelines are as follows:
• 7 days for single dwelling units
• 3 weeks for commercial buildings
Residents and developers are encouraged to comply within the stipulated timelines to ensure adherence to county planning regulations and orderly development.

MONTHLY CLEAN-UP EXERCISE – MAY 2026

As part of our continued commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive environment, Limuru Municipality will be conducting its monthly clean-up exercise in May 2026 at Kwambira Bus Park, starting from 7:00 AM.
We invite members of the business community, residents, partners, and all other stakeholders to join hands with us as we work together towards keeping our environment clean and promoting shared responsibility in community development.
Together, we can make Kiambu cleaner, greener, and greater.

Progress of works at Kwambira Bus Park continues steadily. The waiting sheds are nearing completion, while both garage sheds are now at 80% completion. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and creating a more efficient, convenient, and user-friendly environment for residents and transport operators.

Huduma Mashinani exercise continues today at Ngecha Town, bringing essential county services closer to residents.
During the exercise, the municipality team is also undertaking garbage collection services to promote a clean, healthy and safe environment for traders and residents.
The initiative aims to enhance service delivery, improve sanitation and ensure residents conveniently access county services within their locality.
