Osiri –Matanda footbridge project across River Migori is progressing swiftly to restore the vital crossing in Macalder Kanyarwanda Ward, Nyatike Sub-County. The previous pedestrian and transit structure was swept away and compromised by swollen river waters following heavy, destructive downpours. This left local artisanal miners and traders stranded.The restoration is designed as a transformative multi-million shilling structural intervention to permanently address the recurring flood vulnerabilities.

Once completed, this critical infrastructure will safely connect Upper and Lower Kanyarwanda with the Macalder population.
