Attention all liquor outlets in Mombasa County!
The Directorate of Liquor Control and Licensing, through the Department of Tourism, Culture and Trade, is taking a strong stance against non-compliant liquor outlets. As you may be aware, the Mombasa County Liquor Act, 2014, requires all liquor outlets to adhere to certain regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
Recently, there has been a surge in the number of liquor outlets within the county, which has led to concerns about the potential risks associated with these establishments. To address these concerns, the Directorate is launching an exercise to crack down on non-compliant liquor outlets.
Non-compliance includes; Noise pollution, Operating outside of designated hours, Being located too close to worship places, learning institutions, or residential areas and Failing to pay for their liquor licenses, among others.
We urge all non-compliant liquor outlets to take immediate action to rectify these issues. The Directorate will not hesitate to take enforcement action if necessary to ensure that businesses are conducted in accordance with the law.
We understand that running a successful business can be challenging, but it is important to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. By working together, we can create a harmonious environment where everyone can enjoy the benefits of a thriving economy while also protecting our shared values.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are committed to ensuring that all liquor outlets in Mombasa County operate in a safe and responsible manner.
