1/3. Yesterday, I led family members, staff, and other mourners in honoring the life of Mama Jael Jane Ayata, who was laid to rest in Asembo, Siaya County. Mama Jane, the beloved mother of Samuel Ayata, my Personal Assistant, passed away on August 8 at Aga Khan Hospital after bravely battling an illness.

ENGAGING THE YOUTH IN VOI

I had the opportunity to engage with young people at Augustin Resort in Voi for a candid and insightful conversation on issues affecting their lives and future.

The session provided an open platform for the youth to freely share their experiences, concerns and expectations, particularly on employment, skills development and access to opportunities.

Listening to our young people is essential. Their voices, ideas and aspirations must remain at the heart of our efforts to create meaningful opportunities and build a better future for all.

I listened to their perspectives and emphasized the importance of empowering young people, creating pathways to meaningful opportunities, and ensuring that their voices are included in decisions that affect their lives. It was a fitting way to conclude a day dedicated to listening, engaging, and working together towards a better future for the youth of Taita Taveta.

ENGAGING WITH TAITA TAVETA YOUTH AT MWATUNGE

I concluded my day in Mwatunge, where I had the opportunity to engage with the youth of Taita Taveta in candid and meaningful discussions on issues affecting their lives and future.

Our conversations focused on key concerns, including employment, skills development, access to opportunities and the important role young people must play in shaping the future of our communities.

I firmly believe that our youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow, they are partners in building the Taita Taveta and Kenya we want today. Creating opportunities, investing in skills and listening to their aspirations must remain at the heart of our development agenda.

1/4. I had a wonderful and enriching time on Saturday, 22nd August, engaging with members of the Taveta community living in Mombasa.

Our meeting at Aldina Visram provided an important opportunity to connect, share ideas, and have an open and constructive conversation about the leadership, aspirations, and future of Taita-Taveta County.

I truly appreciated the warmth, openness, and thoughtful contributions shared during the engagement. Conversations like these are important as we continue listening to our people and reflecting together on the future of our county.
