The tax onslaught waged by the Ruto administration has rubbed Citizens the wrong way..apart from the political spin which the finance bill has ignited, it is politically risky for a regime that has failed to nail inflation, high unemployment, waste and corruption to go ahead and introduce tax measures which are in the least very painful to bear for an impoverished populace. The government of the day should go back to the drawing board and craft policy measures which address specifically the plight of the poor.Loans and more loans from lenders aint going no where. We need to focus on domestic industrial and agricultural production in order to create more wealth.. which Will then be taxable. We cant entirely develop our country on borrowed wealth..nope ,we have to strike the balance between wealth creation and the overall welfare of our People to maintain both political stability and sustenability of all the engines of our growth.

Kenya's global status could not be articulated and enhanced so to speak unless our productivity level and the quality of our products acquire a global competitive edge.We live and operate in a very competitive geopolitical environment and it is what our innovation and creativity can achieve which will put a seal on our visibility.Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia are worth emulating. In the political and economic mix of things, ofcourse urged by our desire to lift millions out of poverty and create a powerful middle class..leaders of the calibre of Yuan Yew, the Singaporean all time great need to come forward through Democratic selection and blaze the torch of leadership.I applaud the efforts of our current leaders, who have embraced the spirit of putting Kenya on the global map..though i strongly doubt if the approach of military and gunboat diplomacy sic..Haiti, Congo and Sudan will earn us the mileage we seek.Lets concentrate on industrialization and the strengthening of democracy, especially the aspect of fixing electoral fraud..and our country will no doubt soar with the Eagles.. period.

Kenya has never been in need of exposure and advertising as our bureaucrats, would like us to believe, every time they go to extra-efforts even as they spend millions of dollars, hopping from one international gathering to the other in the name hammering about our economic potential and strategic geographic position. The bureaucrats should learn to employ the latest technology communication tools, to reach out to global audience without un necessary having to fly out and in and spend time in expensive hotels.Africa right needs mature approach to issues that bedevil her social co-existence and development and this has to be negotiated on the platform of expenditure discipline and reigning of our appetites.Let's spend and safe for a rainy day tomorrow, for that way lies the wisdom of uplifting our socio-economic standards.

No country can develop and gain that exquisite status of efficiency and equity in wealth distribution, unless it maximizes its human capital and other natural resources.Equally an individual upward social and economic mobility is an experience of self-propulsion and only through the pull of ones bootstraps can it be called success in life. The dividends ofcourse are dignity and confidence.Nature itself on whose lap we lie is self-propagating.It abhors dependency and reckless interference, in the sense that it will catch a cold, wilt and reel dangerously to the extinct. We are well endowed to always rely on ourselfs. We can meaningfully enrich life with our own dynamos of creativity and application of the efforts.Arent we equipped with spiritual and physical means to add value to life, while drawing sustenance from its bio-chemical products and elements? Its always heartbreaking to hear and witness many an individual; caught up in the cross fires of inaction, cynicism and lack of confidence. And why, when unbeknown to him he's sitting on a goldmine That 'goldmine' is his unexploited talents and the grace of God which is freely available.Anybody can become anything in this world...but the will be directed to it.A materially, well endowed country, anywhere on the African continent, has a bright future within its optics, if only it can redefine its path..and choose that leads to prosperity and dignity for its millions of economically and politically challenged folks.

Its been a while, since since our economic ship hit turbulence. The die is cast or the gloves are off and every Kenyan especially the holloi-polloi are going through a hard stretch Prices of basic commodities have gone through the roof. What a three dollar wage a day can cater for beggars believe.Ours is an underemployed and jobless conundrum, which needs stringent measures to fix.Investments across all sectors of the economy, will have to be escalated, especially by the next government, to deal with this social time bomb, which if not timely detonated, can render a failed society.A quick look at our food capacity and the energy affordability to fuel the nation, bespeak of a struggling nation, stuck in the rut of shortages and erratic supply systems.A nation that is unable to feed itself, cant get anything else right, for food, water and shelter are the basic building blocks of the entire development structure. We know that we would not be where we are but for the implicit ills of corruption, wastage, duplication and impunity. We are caught in the cross airs of these evils, because government, is always held hostage by these crimes, committed by those vested with public duty.Crime and punishment in this country are just bywords, for as they cynically say in my land"why bother with the rudiments of the law, when you can easily bribe a policeman and buy a judge as well".The inequality characterised by deep pockets of poverty among the populace can not be tackled if the fundamentals are not in place and functioning and these include trasparency and proper management of our resources. The current government, indulged in overspending and diversion of resources, and all along proved helpless in stemming the tide. Now here we are a bewildered country, scratching our heads, not knowing where to start, to fix the mess.If only, we could prick our ears and listen and witness what is happening in Sirilanka today, then we would stop playing with fire.Let us live within our means.

The sharp spike of the cost of living is as unfortunate as it is regrettable.Food an fuel prices, have gone through the roof and as humanity whines and hurls blame right and left, the inescapable truth is that greed and avarice is at the root of this suffering. From the war in Ukrain to national economic haemorrhage occasion ed, by corruption and over borrowing the recurrent theme is that of politics and economics anchored on self interests, hubris, impunity and entitlement. This heady mix is to blame for the current situation where the threat is in direct conflict with existence as we know it.The common man therefore can ill afford to allow, the political elite to determine the arrangement and the general sweep of life, without having their say.Lets do something before we are driven to amargaborn.

Folks, of all colour and creed, the world over hear this; we have war on us right now as we speak.Europe has exploded and the Russians led by their strong man are on the offensive. The preparations and mobilization took place in the full glare of the world. The united states intelligence remember all along had precisely pointed interalia to these events as being the precursors of a full blown military invasion, to take away Ukraine from the global map.Interalia again amidst peace calls, the Putin administration defied world wide calls for peace. As correctly predicted, finally the world has a war of major global implication in its hands. The terrible mess that Putin is prepared to plunge the world into in real time can not even be quantified nor imagined. The world is in for a rude shock, if it does not speak with one voice, to fight Putin and Russia. This globe can not know peace with Hi**er like demagogues as Putin.Europe and i repeat Europe under Nato should stand up and fight the bully .The democratic and the free world led by America must throw every thing it has against this vicious and a loose canon of a dictator. The world must fight to protect and guard its liberty and freedom which at this moment is under dire threat. As a first serious step iam waiting to hear that Russia has been cut off, from the global swift financial system.

Leadership and the leaders that preside over countries, come and go.In a democracy like ours it is the style and competition of ideas that ultimately puts a leader on the pedestal, of implementing, the policies that will determine the type of leader we, as a democracy put in the presidential position.Uhuru kenyatta and Kibaki who preceded him will go down as men who committed a large chunk of our gross domestic product towards infrastructural devolopment. The building of roads, power lines, dams, railways and ports received a big boon in their two terms.Whilst the former will be censured, for having plunged the country in a debt constraint, as it were, Kibaki was a prudent economist, who prefered to spent within the country's means, and there the difference between the two president's lay.In a debt ridden country like ours alot of what we produce goes out, to pay the debtors, leaving little income to be ploughed back into the economy, hence the spiralling of the poor populations.Politics and economy are joined at the heap, and the hue and cry, which has reached defeaning stage over, the difficult to make ends meet in this country, which translates into a political blame game as to the quality of the country's leadership is to a great extend the result of poor economic planning.A leader who can or is able to fix the economy, to the satisfaction of the citizenry across the board is always assured of universal support.Kenya today prides itself as being a middle income country, however the inequality among the rich and the poor is outrageous! This condition alone can easily morph into a class war, where the have nothing raise against the rich, in an attempt to settle scores over the perceived economic and political inequalities.Once this situation explodes not even the combined forces of the police and the army can stem the explosive situation. Now that Uhuru's presidency is coming to an end, and with the infrastructural development already laid, industrialization ought to be next.

The push and pull of politics can occassion a temporary brain paralysis hence we forget the nitty-gritty of what it takes to built a great and vibrant country. As they say in America politicians are wont to fall on the economic sword.A Magafuli style and ex*****on of the presidency..would in my opinion..free many resources from the shackles of corruption and ethnic treadmill.Hard and honest work makes for an honest and dignified living. This article of life can only be purchased through the hard coin of sweat and sacrifice.Let us rally to this noble call, and our legacies will endure all times.
