Yesterday, KRA pitched tents in EASTLEIGH.
To ease the tension, KRA kicked off the meeting on a very high note.
- KRA praised Eastleigh as the heart of trade in Kenya.
- And noted that across the country, countless people source their goods from Eastleigh.
Waria nodded & clapped with cheers, Aye! Aye!
And promised to take business even higher in the coming years.
Then KRA began to shift gears.
- Now we need visibility of your businesses. So we can support your growth even better.
Waria asked KRA: What do you mean? Our businesses are here for everyone to see.
KRA responded: Well guys, we cannot see your sales.
Wariya asked: How do you not see our sales.
KRA responded:
- Guys, you are not accepting Till or Paybill payments. Instead you ask customers to withdraw money from M-PESA agents and pay in cash.
- Neither are you transmitting your sales through eTIMS.
Waria asked: What is that?
KRA tried again: You are not giving your customers etr receipts.
