The PS TVET, engaged members of the Kisii National Polytechnic Council during the induction of new Council members.
As the TVET sector continues to evolve, governance must remain firmly focused on outcomes: competent graduates, industry-responsive training, innovation, prudent use of resources and measurable contribution to national development. Effective oversight is not about managing day-to-day operations; it is about setting direction, demanding accountability and creating the conditions that enable institutions to deliver on their mandate.
The PS, challenged the Council not to allow policy decisions, plans, institutional opportunities and innovative ideas to be buried in the graveyard of delayed action. Unlike the physical grave, which is inevitable, the grave of unrealised institutional potential is avoidable through decisive governance, disciplined oversight and timely implementation.
The future of TVET will be defined by leadership that is visionary, disciplined and committed to excellence. By strengthening governance today, we are laying the foundation for resilient institutions that will drive skills development, productivity and economic transformation for generations to come.
