EXCESSIVE FORCE FROM POLICE DURING GOR MAHIA vs TUSKER FC AT NYAYO STADIUM 😟

I also want to join in solidarity with my fellow journalists, photographers, and all other fans who are condemning the excessive force used by the police yesterday at Nyayo National Stadium during the SUPER CUP πŸ† match between KOGALO and TUSKER FC.

The match ended 3–0, with Tusker carrying the day. Even after the final whistle, Kogalo fans were understandably disappointed and continued singing and supporting their team. However, I heard a canister being fired inside the pitch, which caused fans to panic and run out of the stadium.

Some fans sustained serious injuries, while others fainted after being affected by the canister.

We cannot run Kenyan football in this manner, where stadiums are filled with police officers who use excessive force against peaceful fans. We are calling upon the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to look into this matter and take appropriate action.

Such incidents are damaging the image and growth of football in our country.

WE ARE NOT HAPPY AT ALL! 😩

πŸ•ŠοΈ GOR MAHIA UTAWALA BRANCH MOURNS THE LATE MAXWELL OKEYO NDEGWA πŸ’š

GOR MAHIA UTAWALA BRANCH travelled from Nairobi to Rachuonyo Kauma Sub-County in Homa Bay County to attend the burial of their beloved member, the late MAXWELL OKEYO NDEGWA.

Maxwell passed away on 20th June 2026 at Kenyatta National Hospital following an accident that occurred during the CoC fundraising event for the late Victor Anyona.

Representatives from different Gor Mahia branches came together to stand with the family during the burial ceremony, which took place on 21st August 2026 at his father's home.

Among the Gor Mahia Council of Chairpersons (CoC) officials who attended the burial were CoC Chairperson Mr. Paul Ochar, Vice Chairperson Mr. Eddy Jakochia, CoC Welfare Chairperson Mr. Fred Omondi, Ethics and Compliance Secretary Mr. Alweny, and CoC Treasurer Josephine Ochieng' And CoC Organizing Sec Mr. Ranking And They were accompanied by other chairpersons from various Gor Mahia branches.

As the Kogalo fraternity, we say β€œPOLE πŸ˜”β€ to Mr. Dan, Chairman of Gor Mahia Utawala Branch, and the entire branch for the loss of their beloved member. May God grant you strength, comfort, and courage during this difficult moment. πŸ™πŸ˜”

To the GOR MAHIA COUNCIL OF CHAIRPERSONS (CoC), we sincerely appreciate you for always standing with Gor Mahia fans during difficult moments such as this. This is the true spirit of brotherhood, unity, and togetherness. πŸ’š

The body of the late Maxwel Okeyo Ndegwa, a devoted member of Gor Mahia Utawala Branch, was today taken from Kenyatta Mortuary to his residence in Faigilia, Utawala, where a night vigil will be held.

The body will later be transported to his ancestral home in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County, where he will be laid to rest.

We stand with the family, friends, and the entire Gor Mahia fraternity during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’šπŸ™
