THE BIG BREAKTHROUGH....

During a development tour and church service in Kitui County Government on July 12, 2026, President William Samoei Ruto promised that Thwake Multi Purpose Water Development Program will be completed by next year.

President Ruto announced that the government has successfully mobilized Sh10.6 billion specifically to complete the project. This includes funding secured from the African Development Bank Group alongside state counterpart financing.

The President issued direct instructions to the Ministry Of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation and the contractor, pledging that the dam will be officially commissioned by April 2027.

Head of State emphasized that his administration will not marginalize any region based on voting patterns. He noted that because all Kenyans pay taxes, they deserve equitable development, adding that major infrastructure projects like Thwake Multipurpose Dam will deliberate and transform the country
