The Government of Kenya Kenya is preparing to send at least 500 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the 26th East African Community (EAC) MSME Trade Fair in Kigali, Rwanda, as the government seeks to expand market access and strengthen regional trade for local businesses.

This years trade fair is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 8 in Kigali, and it is expected to attract close to 2,000 exhibitors from EAC partner states. Kenya plans to have all 47 counties represented, with each county expected to send at least five exhibitors and 100 young MSMEs who have benefited from NYOTA project.

PS. Susan Auma Mang'eni Cbs: We are deepening financial inclusion by introducing a national credit scoring system that will enable Kenyans to leverage their credit history, including their Hustler Fund repayment history, to improve their access to credit.

This will help MSMEs access financing without relying solely on traditional collateral, such as logbooks and title deeds, thereby unlocking much-needed growth capital.
