KIE AND SIDIAN BANK EXPLORE PARTNERSHIP TO EXPAND AFFORDABLE SME FINANCING.
KIE Managing Director Mr Nelson M. Kwamini has this morning hosted Sidian Bank Chief Executive Officer Mr John Okulo for discussions on a strategic partnership to expand affordable financing and enterprise support for Kenya’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Speaking in the meeting, the CEOs have underscored the benefits of the proposed partnership that combine KIE’s enterprise development expertise with Sidian Bank’s financial solutions. Key highlight of the proposal is the championing for innovative financing instruments to increase access to affordable credit for qualifying SMEs beyond KIE’s current lending capacity.
The two institutions have also explored joint resource mobilisation, SME training, digital financial inclusion, customer referrals, market linkages, business advisory services and stronger risk-management systems.
The proposed collaboration advances the inclusive-financing agenda as championed by FCPA Hon. Dr Wycliffe A. Oparanya, EGH, Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and Hon. Susan Auma Mang'eni Cbs , Principal Secretary for the State Department for MSMEs Development.
Their leadership continues to promote affordable financing, enterprise growth and wider economic participation, particularly among underserved groups.
KIE and Sidian Bank will hold a follow-up meeting to formalise the proposed areas of collaboration and develop an implementation roadmap.
Mr Okulo was accompanied by Ms Catherine Serem, Senior Corporate Manager. KIE managers Ms Monica Kotut, Dr Doreen K. Kimathi, Mr Moses Miano, Mr Churchil Achika and Mr Michael Njane also attended the meeting.
