KIE EXPLORES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH LIBERATING EDUCATION ORGANIZATION TO ADVANCE MSME DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION.
KIE Managing Director, Mr. Nelson Nelson M. Kwamini today hosted a delegation from the Liberating Education Organization (LEO) of Germany. The team comprised of Mr. Konstantin Kölmel (CEO & Co-Founder) Mr. Nils Rauscher (Co-Founder) and Mr. Kelvin N. Mbau (Country Manager – Kenya).
The meeting explored potential collaboration and partnership in digital literacy and entrepreneurship training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with a focus on leveraging synergies between the two organisations to strengthen enterprise development.
The LEO team reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to practical digital skills and entrepreneurship training through blended learning approaches and community based learning centres.
The KIE MD welcomed the proposal to establish Centres of Excellence across KIE branches nationwide. The model seeks to integrate digital learning platforms, in person training, mentorship and enterprise support services to enhance MSME capacity building.
The discussions also explored the establishment of agri processing common user facilities to promote value addition and support the growth of cottage industries in line with the Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development strategy under Cabinet Secretary Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya
The proposed collaboration aligns with the Government’s MSME development agenda under the State Department for MSMEs Development led by Principal Secretary Susan Auma Mang'eni Cbs aimed at strengthening enterprise capacity, innovation and productivity.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to fostering inclusive enterprise growth and accelerating digital transformation for MSMEs across the country.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Kennedy Odweyo, Technical Assistant to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Co-operatives and MSMEs Development, alongside KIE departmental heads.
