I had the honour of participating in the 5th Annual Alumni Leadership Conference at the Safaricom M-PESA Foundation Academy a gathering that reminded me just how far this community has come.

Standing before hundreds of alumni, drawn from all 47 counties and now scattered across lecture halls and boardrooms worldwide, I was moved. It was a privilege to share this moment with M-PESA Foundation Chairman Mr. Joe Ogutu and the wider Board of Management.

As keynote speaker, I brought them one message: , the leadership our world needs now is servant leadership, powered by purpose and enabled by technology.

That’s the quiet power of this Academy. It doesn’t just hand young people an education it hands them a compass. World-class learning. A network stretching continents. Exposure most only dream of. And now, the tools to build the future: digital skills, Artificial Intelligence, and the courage to innovate.

I left that Academy lighter in step and fuller in conviction. The seeds this academy plants don’t merely grow they multiply, they lead, they give back, and they build with technology.

Today I was deeply honoured to preside over the commissioning of the Cooler Plant for Temik Umoja Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd Sotik.

I was joined by area MCA Hon. Nathan Kibet and the dedicated team from the Bomet County Department of Cooperatives. To the entire leadership, officials, and members of Temik Umoja, I say hongera sana. This is not just an event. It is a milestone that will secure incomes and shape livelihoods for generations.

Cooperatives are the roots of our rural economy. They bring farmers together, and when farmers come together, the harvest always follows. With this cooler plant, Temik Umoja now has the capacity to preserve milk, reduce post-harvest losses, and access better markets.

Through Temik Umoja, we are laying a foundation for the future. Farmers will market collectively to secure better prices and stronger bargaining power. Together, they will build capacity through training, and value addition so that this cooperative stands strong for years to come.

The impact of this cooler plant goes beyond storage. It will create jobs for our young people in milk collection, transport, and processing. It provides a platform for knowledge on better dairy health, feeding, and milk hygiene. Above all, it guarantees food security and shared prosperity.

My commitment is clear: I will walk this journey with the members of Temik Umoja and our community every step of the way. Let us nurture this seed, and together we will reap a bountiful harvest.
