Thousands of internally displaced people in Terekeka County, Central Equatoria State, are facing worsening humanitarian needs months after fleeing their homes following intercommunal conflict linked to a land dispute between the Jor and Kogi communities.

The dispute remains unresolved, according to displaced families, leaving many uncertain about when they can safely return home.

For those who tried to rebuild their lives through farming, a prolonged dry spell has destroyed their crops, further deepening their vulnerability.

Many families now depend on river water for drinking, putting them at risk of waterborne diseases.

These photographs capture the realities of displacement: families living away from home, struggling to find food, water and a path back to normal life.
