The Wajir Township Affordable Housing Project is steadily progressing towards completion, advancing access to affordable, decent, and dignified housing for Kenyans in the region.

Upon completion, the project is set to deliver 220 housing units comprising studio apartments, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units, thereby accommodating different income groups and housing needs within the community.

The development also features essential amenities and supporting infrastructure including a borehole to ensure reliable water supply, adequate parking spaces, green and recreational areas, pedestrian walkways, and well-planned public spaces that promote sustainable and comfortable living.

Beyond housing delivery, the project continues to drive local economic empowerment through the creation of employment opportunities for residents, engagement of Jua Kali artisans, and support for local businesses supplying construction materials and services. This has contributed significantly to income generation and economic growth within Wajir and its surrounding areas.

The Affordable Housing Programme remains a key government initiative aimed at expanding access to homeownership while uplifting communities through inclusive urban development.
