There are fewer than 6,000 black rhinos left on Earth. Tytan is one of them.
He came to us as an orphan, and he is growing into exactly the kind of bold, confident young bull his species desperately needs. When he's older, Tytan will call the forest he is currently exploring his home, and will roam wild and protected.
For now though, he remains a pampered baby. His daily ritual includes a visit to the mud bath, where he lies on his back, legs akimbo, while his Keeper coats him in mud. His best friend Notty – a zebra, which is another story entirely – is never far from the muddy mayhem.
One calf at a time, we are helping to protect Africa's rhinos. Discover Tytan's story and find out how you can help: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/tytan
