Matthew 28:19–20 (NKJV)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you..."

One of the defining cultures of every true believer must be the culture of evangelism. Christianity was never intended to be a private faith hidden from the world. From the very beginning, Jesus established witnessing as the lifestyle of every disciple. Evangelism is not merely a church program or an occasional outreach, it is a Christian culture.

A culture is a consistent way of life. It is something we practice naturally and continually. Just as the early Church "went everywhere preaching the word" (Acts 8:4), believers today should constantly seek opportunities to share Christ wherever they go. Our homes, workplaces, schools, businesses, neighborhoods, and social gatherings are all mission fields entrusted to us by God.

Jesus Himself modeled this culture. He preached in synagogues, villages, on mountainsides, in homes, along the seashore, and even beside a well. Everywhere He went, He proclaimed the Kingdom of God. The apostles embraced this same lifestyle. Having encountered the risen Christ, they could not remain silent because they understood that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

Sadly, many believers have reduced evangelism to the responsibility of pastors, evangelists, or church leaders. Yet the Great Commission was given to every disciple. Every Christian is Christ's ambassador. Whether through preaching, personal conversations, acts of kindness, sharing your testimony, or inviting someone to church, every believer has a part to play in advancing the Kingdom of God.

When evangelism becomes our culture, souls become our burden. We no longer see people merely as neighbors, colleagues, or acquaintances, but as precious lives for whom Christ died. A witnessing church is a growing church, and a witnessing believer experiences the joy of partnering with God in His great work of redemption.

Evangelism is not an event, it is a Christian culture. Every believer is called to consistently share the Gospel and lead others to Christ.

May we refuse to become comfortable Christians who only receive. Let us uphold the Christian culture of evangelism until sharing the Gospel becomes as natural to us as prayer, worship, and the reading of God's Word.

Intentionally share the Gospel, tell your testimony, or invite at least one person to church today. Make witnessing a daily expression of your Christian culture.

Acts 20:35 (NKJV)
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

One of the distinguishing marks of Christianity is the culture of generosity. Giving is not merely an occasional act of kindness or something believers do only during special offerings. It is a godly tradition, a way of life that reflects the very nature and character of God. Since God is the greatest Giver, His children are called to develop a lifestyle of giving.

Jesus declared that "it is more blessed to give than to receive." This statement establishes generosity as a kingdom principle. The early Church embraced this tradition wholeheartedly. They gave to support the poor, sustain the work of God, care for widows, send missionaries, and meet the needs of fellow believers. Their generosity was not driven by pressure but by transformed hearts.

Christianity is a culture of open hands, not closed fists. We give because we have first received from God. We give our tithes and offerings faithfully, we give to those in need, we give our time, our talents, our hospitality, our encouragement, and our love. Generosity extends beyond money; it is the willingness to invest every resource God has entrusted to us for His glory and for the blessing of others.

In a world dominated by selfishness and materialism, believers must uphold the godly tradition of generosity. We do not wait until we feel wealthy before we give. Giving becomes part of our daily Christian culture. As generosity becomes our lifestyle, we become channels through which God's blessings flow to many.

May the Lord deliver us from the culture of greed and establish within us the culture of generosity. Let every believer become known as a cheerful giver, reflecting the heart of our Heavenly Father.

Generosity is not an event, it is a Christian culture. Those who walk with God make giving a lifelong godly tradition.

THE CULTURE OF SERVING GOD

1 Timothy 4:7–8 (NKJV)
"But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come."

One of the greatest godly traditions every believer must cultivate is the tradition of spiritual discipline. Spiritual growth does not happen accidentally; it is the result of consistently practicing biblical disciplines until they become a godly culture of life. Just as an athlete trains regularly to excel in competition, every believer must exercise himself or herself toward godliness.

The Apostle Paul uses the language of training because spiritual maturity requires intentional effort. No one becomes prayerful by chance. No one develops a love for God's Word overnight. No one walks in holiness without daily choices. These virtues are cultivated through repeated obedience until they become established habits. Godly traditions are simply biblical practices that have become part of our daily lifestyle.

Sadly, many believers want spiritual power without spiritual discipline. They desire the fruit of maturity without embracing the process that produces it. They wait until they "feel spiritual" before praying, reading the Scriptures, worshipping, or serving God. Yet the Christian life is not governed by feelings but by commitment. We cannot wait for emotions to motivate us to serve God. We must develop a culture of serving God faithfully, whether we feel inspired or not.

Prayer, Bible reading, fasting, worship, fellowship, giving, soul-winning, and faithful service are not religious rituals to be performed occasionally. They are godly traditions that strengthen our spiritual lives. The more consistently they are practiced, the stronger our relationship with God becomes. What begins as discipline eventually becomes delight, and what starts as routine becomes a lifestyle of intimacy with God.

Paul reminds us that physical exercise has limited benefits, but spiritual discipline carries eternal value. It blesses our present lives by producing peace, wisdom, strength, and victory over sin, while also preparing us for eternal rewards. Every investment made in godliness yields dividends both now and forever.

As believers, let us reject worldly habits that weaken our spiritual lives and intentionally embrace the godly traditions taught in Scripture. A disciplined Christian becomes a stable Christian, and a stable Christian becomes a fruitful servant of God. Those who faithfully maintain these godly traditions develop a lasting culture of serving God that impacts both their generation and the generations to come.

2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)
"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

One of the greatest responsibilities God has given every believer is to faithfully pass godly traditions to the next generation. Christianity is always one generation away from decline if biblical truth is not intentionally taught, modeled, and entrusted to others. The Church survives and flourishes because each generation receives the truth, lives it, and faithfully hands it over to those who come after them.

The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy to commit the truths he had received to faithful men who would also be able to teach others. This reveals God's divine pattern of multiplication. The gospel is not meant to terminate with us; it is meant to continue through us. Every believer should see himself or herself as a bridge between one generation and the next.

Godly traditions are not merely religious customs. They are biblical patterns of life handed down through Scripture and practiced by faithful believers. These include devotion to God's Word, prayer, worship, holiness, faithfulness in serving God, fellowship with believers, giving, evangelism, discipleship, and walking in obedience to the Lord. These traditions preserve the spiritual health of God's people and keep the Church anchored in truth.

Unfortunately, many believers desire to leave behind wealth, education, businesses, or property for their children while neglecting to pass on their spiritual inheritance. Yet the greatest legacy we can leave is not material possessions but a living faith in Jesus Christ. A child who inherits godly values possesses a treasure that will guide him throughout life and into eternity.

Passing on the faith requires more than preaching; it requires consistent example. Children, young believers, and those we disciple learn as much from our daily lives as they do from our words. When they observe a culture of prayer, reverence for God, commitment to His house, love for His Word, and faithful service, they are more likely to embrace those same values.

As we seek to develop a culture of serving God, we must intentionally mentor the next generation. We should teach them not only what to believe but also how to live for Christ. Every parent, pastor, church leader, and mature believer has a divine responsibility to raise faithful disciples who will continue God's work long after we are gone.

May the Lord help us to become faithful custodians of the gospel, preserving biblical truth and passing on godly traditions to the next generation so that His kingdom may continue to advance from generation to generation.

Mark 7:8–13 (NKJV)
"For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men... making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down."

One of the greatest responsibilities of every believer is to reject every tradition that contradicts the Word of God. Ungodly traditions must be rejected. While there are godly traditions that strengthen our walk with Christ, there are also traditions of men that oppose God's truth. Jesus strongly rebuked the religious leaders because they had elevated human customs above the commandments of God. Their traditions had become so powerful that they nullified the authority and effectiveness of God's Word.

A tradition is simply an established pattern of belief or practice that is handed down from one generation to another. Not every tradition is evil. The Bible commands believers to hold fast to apostolic traditions founded upon God's Word (2 Thessalonians 2:15). However, traditions that originate from human opinion, culture, religion, or superstition must never be allowed to replace biblical truth.

Many people remain in spiritual bo***ge because they defend inherited customs without examining them in the light of Scripture. Some traditions promote fear, idolatry, legalism, ancestral practices, ritualism, discrimination, or false worship. Others encourage believers to depend upon ceremonies rather than genuine obedience to Christ. Whenever a tradition competes with the authority of God's Word, it must be rejected.

The culture of serving God demands that believers build their lives upon Scripture rather than upon popular opinion or inherited practices. Every custom, family practice, church practice, or cultural belief must be tested against the Word of God. We do not change Scripture to fit tradition; we change our traditions to align with Scripture.

Throughout history, God has continually called His people to separate themselves from practices that dishonor Him. True revival always begins when people return to the authority of God's Word. Whenever believers choose obedience over tradition, God's truth brings freedom, purity, and spiritual renewal.

As believers developing a culture of serving God, let us embrace every godly tradition taught by Christ and His apostles while courageously rejecting every tradition that weakens obedience to God's Word. The authority of Scripture must always remain supreme in our lives.

Every tradition must bow to the authority of God's Word. Hold fast to godly traditions, but reject every tradition of men that contradicts the truth of Scripture.

Acts 2:42 (NKJV)
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

One of the greatest godly traditions every believer must uphold is the tradition of remaining steadfast in apostolic doctrine. The early Church did not become spiritually strong by chance. It developed a culture of faithfully preserving and practicing the teachings that had been handed down by the apostles. Their consistency in sound doctrine became the foundation upon which God built a vibrant, unified, and powerful Church.

Doctrine is not merely theological information; it is God's revealed truth that governs the believer's faith and conduct. The apostles did not invent their message. They faithfully transmitted what they had received from the Lord Jesus Christ. Consequently, the early believers understood that spiritual growth depended upon remaining firmly anchored in these divine teachings rather than embracing every new idea or popular opinion.

Many believers today desire the power, unity, and revival experienced by the early Church while neglecting the godly traditions that produced those results. We cannot expect apostolic power while abandoning apostolic doctrine. Whenever believers drift from sound teaching, spiritual compromise soon follows. But when God's people continually devote themselves to the Word, they become spiritually mature, discerning, and firmly established in the faith.

Notice that Acts 2:42 says they continued steadfastly. This was not an occasional commitment based on convenience or feelings. It was a settled culture of Christian living. They habitually gathered to hear God's Word, to fellowship with one another, to break bread, and to pray. These were not religious rituals but life-giving godly traditions that sustained their relationship with God and strengthened the body of Christ.

The Church of our generation must recover this apostolic culture. We must uphold sound doctrine without compromise, faithfully study the Scriptures, submit ourselves to biblical teaching, and reject doctrines that contradict God's Word. The believer who develops a culture of remaining in apostolic doctrine will not easily be carried away by deception, worldly philosophies, or false teachings.

May God grant us the grace to uphold the godly tradition of steadfast devotion to apostolic doctrine. As we faithfully continue in His Word, we will grow in spiritual stability, bear lasting fruit, and become believers who preserve the purity of the gospel for future generations.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NKJV)
"Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."

Every life is governed by certain traditions. Although the word tradition is often viewed negatively, the Bible clearly teaches that not all traditions are wrong. There are godly traditions, and there are the traditions of men. Godly traditions are biblical beliefs, practices, and patterns of life that are founded upon the Word of God and handed down by Christ and His apostles. The traditions of men, however, are human customs and teachings that contradict, replace, or nullify the authority of God's Word.

The Apostle Paul exhorted believers to "stand fast and hold the traditions" they had received. These were not human inventions but apostolic teachings inspired by the Holy Spirit. They included sound doctrine, holy living, faithful worship, prayer, evangelism, generosity, the breaking of bread, and steadfast obedience to God's Word. Such traditions preserve the purity of the Church and keep believers firmly established in the faith.

Many believers today desire the power of the early Church but neglect the godly traditions that sustained that power. We cannot expect apostolic results while abandoning apostolic practices. Every generation has the responsibility of preserving the biblical heritage it has received and faithfully passing it on to the next generation without compromise.

At the same time, Jesus strongly warned against the traditions of men. The religious leaders of His day elevated human customs above God's commandments, thereby making "the word of God of no effect" (Mark 7:13). This reminds us that every tradition must be tested by Scripture. Whatever agrees with God's Word should be embraced, while whatever contradicts it must be rejected.

As believers, we are called to become faithful custodians of godly traditions. We must stand firmly upon the foundation laid by Christ and His apostles, refusing to exchange eternal truth for changing cultural opinions. The Church remains strong when it faithfully preserves what God has entrusted to it.

"Stand fast and hold the godly traditions of Scripture, for they preserve the purity of the faith and keep believers firmly established in Christ."

May God grant you the grace to faithfully uphold godly traditions—prayer, sound doctrine, fellowship, the breaking of bread, holiness, generosity, and many others. As you remain steadfast in these sacred practices, may your life continually reflect the character and glory of Christ.
