Construction of the 2.3 billion shillings 42km Saba Saba- Kamahuha- Kaharati-Maragua- Ichagaki-Gikomora- Ngaburi road stalled in 2020 due to lack of funding, as the economy was disrupted by the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Government has now paid the entire porfolio of 190 billion shillings of pending bills in the road sector, enabling contractors to resume road construction of some 6000 kilometers which had stalled six years ago.
Impromptu stop to inspect ongoing construction of the Maragua- Ichagaki- Gikomora- Ngaburi section, to be complete in the next two months.
Addressed residents at Gikomora, urged the youth to take advantage of NYOTA , Affordable Housing, Digital Jobs and the Overseas Labour Mobility programmes initiated by government to cumulatively create jobs and income opportunities for between 4 million and 5 million young people across the country by the end of this year.
