Kamenu Ward, Thika – Senior Onyangi, an aspiring Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Kamenu Ward in the 2027 General Election, addressed residents during the official launch of Bunge la Mwananchi – Thika Chapter.
In his remarks, Senior Onyangi urged the government to prioritize healthcare and education, describing them as the pillars of economic growth and sustainable national development. He emphasized that investing in these sectors would improve the quality of life for wananchi and create more opportunities for future generations.
The aspiring MCA also reaffirmed his commitment to restoring the values of leadership through integrity, accountability, transparency, and selfless service if elected to represent Kamenu Ward in 2027.
Senior Onyangi thanked Team Senior Onyangi, Kamlesh TV Kenya, and all wananchi who attended the launch, noting that public participation is essential in building responsive and people-centered leadership.

We need to invest in civic education for our wananchi because ignorance and lack of information remain very high in this country. Many people can support a leader throughout the day, yet that same leader continues to offer poor leadership. As long as handouts are given, nothing else seems to matter.
If we truly want good leadership, we must change this culture. We need sustainable solutions to our problems instead of merely surviving.
What I am witnessing in Ol Kalou is heartbreaking. The government appears to have invested heavily in the by-election, to the extent that they can feed the entire electorate just to win. Kenyans must reject tokenism and handouts. A lot of taxpayers' money is being wasted, and that is why many of us remain poor.
Today, many families can barely afford a single meal or pay school fees. We must wake up from this slumber. Leaders who do not perform should be sent home. Do not give them platforms they do not deserve. Do not cheer leaders simply because they give out money. Never be desperate for handouts.
Put God first in everything, and let us work together to bring about the change we desire.
Change must come.

Why are some opposition leaders missing in action today, yet this is such an important day of remembering the Gen Z heroes who fought and lost their lives in the struggle for liberation?
Where is Linda Mwananchi? Where is Matiang'i? Where is Rigathi Gachagua? It appears that some leaders only expect ordinary wananchi to take to the streets, face teargas, arrests, injuries, and even death, while they remain absent.
Kenyans, sometimes we need to open our eyes and think critically. We must not allow ourselves to be used.
We need action here so that wantam can become a reality, evidence of liberation.
