I love wildlife deeply, and I have dedicated myself to helping animals survive during this difficult dry season. Many wildlife animals are walking long distances in search of water, putting their lives at risk. That is why I decided to transport water closer to them and give them hope when they need it most.

Jackson Nyange — The Elephant Man of Tsavo

In the heart of Tsavo, where the red soil meets the endless wilderness, one man has dedicated his life to protecting wildlife and supporting communities. His name is Jackson Nyange, proudly known as “The Elephant Man of Tsavo.”

Jackson’s journey is driven by one simple belief: water is life.

During the dry season, when rivers and natural water sources disappear, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and other wild animals are forced to walk long distances in search of water. Jackson saw their struggle and decided he could not simply stand and watch.

Since starting his volunteer conservation initiative, Jackson has been transporting thousands of litres of water to wildlife and communities in and around Tsavo. His mission is not only to bring water closer to animals, but also to help communities facing the same challenge.

He works with limited resources, but his heart is full of courage, compassion, and hope. Every journey he makes carries more than water—it carries a message of love for wildlife, care for communities, and hope for the future.

Jackson does not call himself a hero. He simply says he is doing what he can.

The dry season is becoming more severe, and our wildlife is suffering. Many elephants are walking for long distances every day in a desperate search for water. Some are weak, exhausted, and fighting to survive.
I am working tirelessly, day and night, to bring water closer to these beautiful animals and save as many lives as possible. Every trip we make gives elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and other wildlife a chance to survive this harsh season.
