The prestigious event was held under the high presidency of H.E. Dr. Sor Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Chairman of the National Committee for Counter Trafficking in Persons (NCCT), alongside H.E. General Sok Veasna, Director General of the General Directorate of Immigration (GDI), at the S Building Hall, Ministry of Interior.

This landmark initiative reinforces collective efforts and international cooperation in combating human trafficking and delivering essential support to victims.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) of Timor-Leste, led by CSC President and ACCSM Leader Mr. Agostinho Letêncio de Deus, alongside Executive Secretary and SOM ACCSM Leader Mrs. Maria da Costa Oliveira, actively represented Timor-Leste at the 23rd ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM Plus Three (Japan 🇯🇵, Korea 🇰🇷, and China 🇨🇳) meetings.

The delegation was joined and supported by Mr. Avelino Pereira, First Secretary of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Phnom Penh, along with technical focal points. 🤝

🇰🇭Cambodia: CSC President Mr. Agostinho Letêncio de Deus held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service of Cambodia. Discussions centered on mindset transformation, merit-based civil service recruitment, and establishing the ASEAN Resource Centre (ARC).
🇮🇩 Indonesia: A courtesy lunch meeting was held with the Indonesian delegation to discuss institutional reform, training programs, and civil service readiness for ASEAN 2029.

On the morning of 7 August 2026, His Excellency Ambassador Marcos dos Reis da Costa attended the official ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to commemorate the 59th Anniversary of the founding of ASEAN.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, alongside H.E. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, foreign diplomatic heads of mission, and senior government officials.

Marking nearly six decades of ASEAN unity and cooperation, the event underscored a shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity. It also reaffirmed Cambodia’s dedication to working alongside ASEAN Member States and external partners toward a resilient, inclusive, and people-centered ASEAN Community.

Addressing the Cambodia-Thailand border issue, H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that a just, peaceful, and lasting solution is key to shared prosperity. He reiterated Cambodia’s call for the full implementation of the 27 December 2025 Joint Statement—including the swift resumption of survey and demarcation work by the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) and the safe, dignified return of displaced civilians to their homes.

On August 3, 2026, the Senate held a high-level seminar on “𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒂'𝒔 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑺𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 2050” at the Solidarity Palace, chaired by Second Vice President H.E. Dr. Thun Vathana.

The event gathered 270 delegates, including state officials, foreign diplomats such as H.E. Ambassador Marcos dos Reis da Costa of Timor-Leste, and private sector leaders, to gather inputs for fulfilling Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s vision of achieving upper-middle-income status by 2030 and high-income status by 2050.

During the session, World Bank representatives commended Cambodia's economic resilience—highlighting $5.1 billion in FDI in 2025 and growth forecasts of 3.9% for 2026 and 4.9% for 2027—while urging investments in STEM, cost reductions, and human capital before the country's demographic peak in 2043.

Additionally, Ministry of Economy and Finance officials outlined key social protection initiatives covering up to 4.86 million citizens alongside TVET programs targeting 1.5 million skilled workers, after which H.E. Dr. Thun Vathana presented 5 strategic priorities focused on workforce development, lowered operational costs, inclusive safety nets, and local SME integration.
