Saint Kitts and Nevis has officially launched the Renewable Energy Transition Roadmap, a major initiative that will guide the Federation's journey toward 100% renewable electricity generation.

The two-day workshop, held on June 3-4, 2026, brought together government officials, energy experts, utility representatives, and international partners to begin shaping a cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable energy future.

Over the next 18 months, the roadmap will help identify the policies, investments, and technologies needed to transform the nation's energy sector and strengthen energy security.

This is a big shift for St. Kitts and Nevis.

Import duty on fully electric vehicles has been reduced from 45% to 10% for vehicles aged 0–4 years, starting May 1, 2026.

That means getting an electric vehicle is no longer just a future idea, it’s becoming a real, accessible option.

Behind this is the DRIVE Initiative (Decarbonized Roadway Initiative for Vehicle Electrification), pushing the country toward cleaner energy, lower fuel dependence, and smarter transportation.

Less money on fuel.
Less impact on the environment.
More control over how you move.

The transition is already happening.
