DHEP 2026 | Day 7: Reaching New Heights & Celebrating Lasting Connections πŸ‡°πŸ‡³β›°οΈ

The final day of the Diaspora Heritage Emergence Programme (DHEP) 2026 was one to remember as participants embraced one last adventure with an exhilarating hike to the summit of Mount Liamuiga, the highest peak in Saint Kitts. The journey tested their resilience, determination, and teamwork, while rewarding them with breathtaking views and an unforgettable experience.

As the sun set on an incredible week of discovery, learning, and cultural immersion, participants gathered at the beautiful Kittitian Hill for the Farewell Dinner, marking the successful conclusion of DHEP 2026.

The evening was filled with laughter, reflection, and celebration as participants showcased their creativity and appreciation through vibrant cultural performances, highlighting the bonds they formed and the lasting memories created throughout the programme. It was a fitting finale to a week dedicated to reconnecting our young nationals and descendants with their heritage, history, and homeland.

Day 6 of the Diaspora Heritage Emergence Programme (DHEP) 2026 was one to remember as participants made their return journey from Nevis to St. Kitts aboard a catamaran, enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the Caribbean Sea.

The adventure continued with an exciting snorkeling experience, where participants explored the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life that make Saint Kitts and Nevis one of the region's hidden gems. The day provided the perfect balance of recreation, cultural appreciation, and fellowship, allowing participants to build lasting friendships while experiencing another unique aspect of their homeland.

Experiences such as these are an integral part of DHEP, fostering meaningful connections among young nationals and descendants while deepening their appreciation for the natural beauty and rich heritage of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit extends sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this memorable excursion possible and for helping to create an unforgettable experience for our participants.

πŸŒ΄β›΄οΈ Day 5: Exploring the Beauty and History of Nevis πŸ‡°πŸ‡³

Day 5 of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Diaspora Heritage Emergence Programme (DHEP) 2026 was dedicated to discovering the charm, history, and culture of Nevis.

Participants embarked on an Island Tour of Nevis, taking in the island's breathtaking scenery, rich heritage, and historic landmarks while gaining a deeper appreciation for the unique character of the Federation's sister island.

Following the tour, participants enjoyed lunch at Sunshine's Bar, where they were once again joined by Premier of Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Mark Brantley. The luncheon provided another meaningful opportunity for participants to engage with the Premier, who shared valuable insights into the history of Nevis, its culture, development, and other topics of national importance, while answering questions and exchanging ideas with the group.

The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit extends its sincere appreciation to Sunshine's Bar for graciously hosting the DHEP participants and the RIDU team. Special thanks are also extended to Premier Brantley for once again taking the time to have lunch with the participants and for his continued engagement, hospitality, and commitment to strengthening connections with the diaspora.

RIDU also expresses its gratitude to Carib Brewery for its generous sponsorship of the official DHEP participant shirts, which contributed to fostering a strong sense of unity and identity throughout the programme.

β›΄οΈπŸ‡°πŸ‡³ Day 4: Building Connections Across the Federation 🌴

Day 4 of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Diaspora Heritage Emergence Programme (DHEP) 2026 began with a focus on financial empowerment and building lasting connections within the Federation.

Participants attended a St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (SKNANB) Presentation and Account Opening Session, where those interested had the opportunity to open personal bank accounts and establish banking relationships in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The morning continued with a presentation by Mr. Ashmo Dorset of The Cable, during which participants learned about the benefits of the Platinum Loyalty Mastercard. Interested participants were also given the opportunity to apply during the session.

Following the morning's activities, participants journeyed to Nevis, where they enjoyed a special lunch hosted by Premier of Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Mark Brantley, alongside members of the Diaspora Unit within the Nevis Island Administration. The luncheon provided an excellent opportunity for fellowship, meaningful dialogue, and strengthening ties with the people of Nevis.

The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU) extends its sincere appreciation to the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (SKNANB) and The Cable for their informative and engaging presentations, as well as to Mr. Delvon Clark and his team at the Diaspora Unit, Nevis Island Administration, and the Office of the Premier for their warm hospitality and generous hosting of the participants.
