☕ Ceylon Tea showcased at the International Tea Day Celebration in Seoul 🇱🇰 🇰🇷
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in in Seoul in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tea Board organized the Ceylon Tea Ceremony to celebrate the International Tea Day on 21st May 2026 in Seoul.
The event brought together the representatives of Ceylon tea brands Korean agents, tea importers, representatives of tea related associations and media representatives to experience the uniqueness of World’s finest tea and rich culture of the island linked with the tea industry.
In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea, M.K. Pathmanaathan, stated the significance of themes of the international tea day declared by the UN and its acquaintances with the Sri Lankan tea industry and its communities. The Ambassador also highlighted the uniqueness of Ceylon tea and its global reputation for its unmatched quality, rich aroma, refreshing taste and diversity.
The audience was attracted by the comprehensive presentation of Ceylon Tea and its verities made by Minister (Commercial) of the Embassy, Chandima Abeyrathna. Varieties of 7 regional teas, artisanal teas were also showcased at the event.
The event further provided the opportunity for the participants to interact and exchange their experience on tea while enjoying freshly brewed finest Ceylon Tea along with the authentic Sri Lankan traditional refreshments.
Ceylon Tea brand agents in South Korea such as Mlesna, Dilmah, Basilur, Akbar, Stassen and Tea Tangs also joined with the Embassy to organize the event successfully reflecting their continuous cooperation towards promoting Ceylon tea, which is the second largest importing tea in the Korean market.
