𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧 𝟱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮
The Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) participated in the Final Conference of the Euro-Mediterranean Statistical Cooperation Programme (MEDSTAT 5), held in Vienna, Austria, on 8–9 July 2026, bringing together representatives of National Statistical Offices from Southern Mediterranean partner countries, Eurostat, and regional and international partners.
The CAS delegation was headed by H.E. Ms. Maria Nalbandian, Director General of CAS, and included Ms. Nadine Saliba, Principal National Coordinator of MEDSTAT 5.
The conference provided an opportunity to review the main achievements of MEDSTAT 5, exchange experiences and best practices, and discuss future directions for strengthening statistical cooperation between Eurostat and Mediterranean partner countries.
During the event, CAS also participated in regional discussions with Eurostat focusing on continued cooperation, modernization of official statistics, capacity development, and priorities for future statistical programmes.
CAS highlighted its commitment to improving the quality, relevance, and accessibility of official statistics in Lebanon and to further strengthening collaboration with European and regional partners.
