Ebel El Saqi Remembers His Majesty King Harald V
With profound sadness, the Municipality of Ebel El Saqi joins the people of Norway in mourning the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.
From our small town in southern Lebanon, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Norwegian Royal Family, the Government and people of Norway, and the Embassy of Norway in Beirut.
King Harald will be remembered not only as a Head of State, but as a symbol of dignity, unity, compassion and devotion to his nation. His long reign reflected a deep belief in bringing people together, particularly in moments when unity and humanity mattered most.
Although Ebel El Saqi and Norway are separated by great distance, our community has long known and respected the Norwegian people. Southern Lebanon, and Ebel El Saqi in particular, will always remember with gratitude Norway’s presence, service and sacrifices in our region, and the bonds of friendship and humanity that were built with our people over the years.
Today, those bonds make Norway’s sorrow our sorrow.
In this moment of national mourning, Ebel El Saqi stands with Norway.
May His Majesty King Harald V rest in peace, and may his memory remain forever part of the history and heart of the Norwegian nation.

إبل السقي تستذكر جلالة الملك هارالد الخامس
ببالغ الحزن والأسى، تنضم بلدية إبل السقي إلى الشعب النرويجي في الحداد على رحيل جلالة الملك هارالد الخامس.
من بلدتنا الصغيرة في جنوب لبنان، نتقدم بأحر التعازي إلى العائلة المالكة النرويجية، وحكومة وشعب النرويج، وسفارة النرويج في بيروت.
سيبقى الملك هارالد في الذاكرة، ليس فقط كرئيس للدولة، بل كرمز للكرامة والوحدة والإنسانية والتفاني في خدمة وطنه. وقد جسّد خلال سنوات حكمه إيماناً عميقاً بأهمية جمع الناس، ولا سيما في اللحظات التي تكون فيها الوحدة والإنسانية بأمسّ الحاجة إليهما.
ورغم المسافة التي تفصل إبل السقي عن النرويج، فإن لأهل بلدتنا معرفة واحتراماً قديمين للشعب النرويجي. وسيبقى جنوب لبنان، وإبل السقي بشكل خاص، يذكران بكل امتنان حضور النرويج وخدمتها وتضحياتها في منطقتنا، وروابط الصداقة والإنسانية التي نسجها النرويجيون مع أهلنا على مدى السنوات.
واليوم، تجعل هذه الروابط حزن النرويج حزناً لنا أيضاً.
في هذا اليوم الحزين، تقف إبل السقي إلى جانب النرويج وشعبها.
رحم الله جلالة الملك هارالد الخامس، ولتبقَ ذكراه خالدة في تاريخ النرويج ووجدان شعبها.
