The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) successfully launched its inaugural Public Education Lecture Series on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, as part of its broader Public Education Campaign. The lecture, themed “Justice Without Borders: The Legal Practitioner’s Perspective and The ECSC Reality,” addressed key issues surrounding legal practice within the Eastern Caribbean and the ECSC’s role in delivering regional justice.

The event featured The Honourable Garth Wilkin as the distinguished lecturer. Senator Wilkin, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs of St. Kitts & Nevis, shared his vast expertise with attendees. A Kittitian by birth, he holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Law and has been called to the Bars of St. Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, and Montserrat. Prior to assuming public office, he practiced law at the Civil and Criminal Bars and served as President of the St. Kitts & Nevis Bar Association.

The lecture was held in The Royal Ballroom at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and was also livestreamed on the ECSC website (www.eccourts.org) and the UWI TV page.
This inaugural event marked a significant step in the ECSC’s commitment to increasing public awareness and understanding of the judicial system and the realities of legal practice in the region.
