Exciting Update on the Souvenir Design Contest!

On February 13, 2025, a distinguished panel of five judges gathered to assess the remarkable souvenir pieces submitted by 23 talented Secondary School Art Students.

Launched in October 2024, the Souvenir Design Contest was an exciting new initiative within the framework of Tourism Education. This contest provided a platform for young, creative minds to design souvenir pieces that reflect national pride and showcase the unique cultural and natural beauty of Saint Lucia. Under the theme "Pride in Every Piece: Celebrating Saint Lucia’s Treasures," the submissions have been a true testament to the creativity and passion that our island’s wonders inspire.

The Ministry of Tourism is deeply impressed by the artistic expressions demonstrated and looks forward to announcing the winners soon! Stay tuned!

The Tourism Advisory Committee “TAC”, is a meeting of private and public sector stakeholders, along with non-governmental organizations who meet quarterly to discuss tourism-related matters and provide strategic guidance to advance the sustainable development of the Tourism sector. On Thursday 30th January members of TAC met for the first time in 2025.

The TAC reviewed the record breaking 2024 performance in the sector as well as various tourism projects and initiatives in train to enhance the destination’s product which include;
• Updates on Islandwide Road Works
• Destination Marketing Strategy
• Tourism Investment Report
• A”ILA Resort & Spa Saint Lucia Construction
• Enhancing Visitor Safety
• Building Climate resilience in the Tourism Sector

The TAC highlighted that the record levels of arrivals achieved in 2024 will serve as a strong foundation to build upon, and firmly position Saint Lucia as a premier global destination.

The staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information extends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Patrick Bernadin better known as 'Gilo' .A master folk practitioner whose melodious voice captured hearts across generations, Gilo was a passionate guardian of our cultural heritage, particularly in the traditions of wake keeping, kont,Débot, woulé laba commentator and Lawòz.A cultural soldier in our stories.

His dedication to preserving and sharing our cultural practices has left an indelible mark on our nation's cultural landscape. The Ministry was privileged to work alongside him in documenting and celebrating these vital aspects of our heritage.
