๐ŸŒณ Building Justice. Preserving Nature.

As we observe World Environment Day, the Saint Lucia Halls of Justice Project reflects on one of the quieter decisions shaping this landmark development.

From the earliest stages of planning, the project team committed to preserving the mature trees that have long been part of the Constitution Park landscape. These trees are more than just greeneryโ€”they are living witnesses to generations of Saint Lucians who have passed through this historic civic space.

Today, as construction progresses around them, these trees continue to provide shade, support birds, bees and other urban wildlife, and offer a welcome connection to nature in the heart of Castries.

Their preservation demonstrates that progress and environmental stewardship can coexist. It is a reminder that while we build for the future, we also have a responsibility to protect the natural and cultural heritage that gives our communities their character.

The Saint Lucia Halls of Justice Project is proud to contribute to a more sustainable urban environmentโ€”one that will serve generations to come.

Happy World Environment Day.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ—๏ธ THIS. IS. A. BIG. DEAL.

The Saint Lucia Halls of Justice Project has just crossed one of the most significant construction milestones of the entire development.

What you are seeing here is the FINAL structural concrete pour for the Main Building, officially marking the 100% completion of the shell and frame of the superstructure. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡จ

In construction terms, this is one of those moments that makes teams pause, look up at the skyline, and quietly say: โ€œWeโ€™ve come far.โ€

From foundation works and crane liftsโ€ฆ to wall pours, slab after slab, floor after floorโ€ฆ the structure that once existed only on drawings is now fully standing over the heart of Castries. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

And hereโ€™s the part worth sounding the horns for even louder:
โœ… The Main Building superstructure remains on schedule for delivery by October 2026.

This milestone represents thousands of coordinated hours by engineers, operators, steel workers, masons, supervisors, safety teams, contractors, consultants, and every single hand that helped carry this project upward.

Saint Lucia, your future Halls of Justice is rising.
And now, the full frame stands complete. ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Behind Every Hard Hat is a Family.
Every milestone on the Saint Lucia Halls of Justice Project is being built by people - engineers, operators, supervisors, administrators, tradesmen and support teams - who show up each day carrying not only responsibility for the work, but responsibility to the people waiting for them at home.

As we observe the International Day of Families, we recognise the human side of construction.

The long hours.
The commitment.
The teamwork.
The families behind the hard hats.

Because projects are not only built with concrete and steel - they are built with people.

Nearly 2,000 voices. One clear message: Saint Lucia believes in its young people.
Earlier this month, we challenged young artists across Saint Lucia to answer one question: "๐‘พ๐’‰๐’‚๐’• ๐’…๐’๐’†๐’” ๐‘ฑ๐’–๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’„๐’† ๐’๐’๐’๐’Œ ๐’๐’Š๐’Œ๐’† ๐’•๐’ ๐’š๐’๐’–?" The response was extraordinary.
The Halls of Justice Youth Art Challenge is proud to announce the Top 3 by Popular Vote:
๐Ÿฅ‡ Makena Edward | Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School | "Justice in Balance" โ€” 704 votes
๐Ÿฅˆ Aquili Arthur | Patricia D. James Secondary School | "Shelter & Justice for All" โ€” 567 votes
๐Ÿฅ‰ Kami St. Rose | St. Joseph's Convent | "Justice and Equality for All" โ€” 364 votes
These young artists didn't just respond to a challenge. They started a conversation about justice that reached far beyond their classrooms. We are honoured to have been the platform.

First, they thrilled us with their art.
Then YOU blew us away.
Nearly 2,000 votes. Schools rallying behind their students. Followers showing up for young people they'd never even met. That is not something you take for granted.
A special salute to the participating schools and the Art Teachers who didn't just enter their students in a challenge โ€” they mobilised. They pushed. They showed their young artists that their work matters and that their community is watching.
To every single person who commented, shared, and voted โ€” you made this real.
NOW THAT is what community looks like.
The Top 3 by Popular Vote will be announced this Thursday, 14th May. Watch. This. Space.

Featured today in the Halls of Justice Youth Art Challenge is the collaborative sculptural piece by Rebecca Felix, Neila Martyr and Trina Pelage of the Stanley Jon Odlum School of Arts, Media & Design:

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ โ€œCommunity Harmonyโ€

This detailed 3D artwork celebrates the interconnectedness of community life in Saint Lucia. Through figures representing fishing, food production, music, sport, education and culture, the piece explores the idea that justice and harmony are built through collective responsibility and shared identity.

The judging panel recognised the work for its creativity, symbolism and powerful interpretation of justice as something rooted not only in laws, but in the strength and wellbeing of community itself.

๐ŸŽจโš–๏ธ FINALIST | JAMIL ALFRED & JADEN RENร‰ โš–๏ธ๐ŸŽจ

Today we feature Jamil Alfred and Jaden Renรฉ of the Stanley Jon Odlum School of Arts, Media & Design with the thought-provoking piece:

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ โ€œTurn Action into Fairnessโ€

Set within a courtroom-inspired environment, the artwork reflects on fairness, accountability and equal treatment within schools and wider society. The composition challenges viewers to think beyond rules alone and instead consider the importance of consistent, unbiased and compassionate decision-making.

The judging panel was particularly impressed by the pieceโ€™s conceptual depth and its interpretation of justice as something that must be actively practised โ€” not simply spoken about.

Featured today in the Halls of Justice Youth Art Challenge is Aquili Arthur of Patricia D. James Secondary School with the unique fibre art installation:

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ โ€œShelter & Justice for Allโ€

Using crochet and fibre art, Aquiliโ€™s piece presents people from different walks of life standing together beneath a shared umbrella โ€” a symbol of protection, equality and justice for all members of society. The equal-length strings represent the equal value of every life, regardless of age, background, profession or ability.

The judging panel recognised the work for its originality, craftsmanship and thoughtful interpretation of justice as something that should provide dignity, safety and belonging to everyone.
