🇱🇰🤝🇮🇳 මැණික් සහ ස්වර්ණාභරණ ක්ෂේත්රයේ නව අවස්ථා හරහා ශ්රී ලංකා-ඉන්දියානු වෙළඳාම ශක්තිමත් කිරීම
ඉන්දියාව ලෝකයේ වැදගත්ම ස්වර්ණාභරණ නිෂ්පාදන, වෙළඳාම සහ පාරිභෝගික වෙළඳපොළකි. ශ්රී ලංකාව සඳහා, මෙම ගතික වෙළඳපොළ සමඟ අපගේ සම්බන්ධතාවය ශක්තිමත් කිරීම අපනයන පුළුල් කිරීමට, ව්යාපාර හවුල්කාරිත්වයන් ගොඩනඟා ගැනීමට සහ අපගේ ප්රසිද්ධ මැණික් සහ ස්වර්ණාභරණ කර්මාන්තයට ආයෝජන ආකර්ෂණය කර ගැනීමට සැලකිය යුතු අවස්ථාවන් ඉදිරිපත් කරයි.
ශ්රී ලංකා අපනයන සංවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය (EDB) විසින් නවදිල්ලියේ ශ්රී ලංකා මහ කොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේ සහ මුම්බායි හි ශ්රී ලංකා කොන්සල් ජනරාල් කාර්යාලයේ සහාය ඇතිව 2026 අගෝස්තු 8 සිට 13 දක්වා ඉන්දියාවට ගිය ශ්රී ලංකා ව්යාපාරික නියෝජිත පිරිසට නායකත්වය දීමට ලැබීම ගැන මම සතුටු වෙමි.
අපගේ වැඩසටහන මුම්බායි හි පැවති ඉන්දියානු ජාත්යන්තර ස්වර්ණාභරණ ප්රදර්ශනයට (IIJS) සහභාගී වීමෙන් ආරම්භ වූ අතර, එය ප්රමුඛ පෙළේ ගැනුම්කරුවන්, නිෂ්පාදකයින්, වෙළඳුන්, ප්රදර්ශකයින් සහ කර්මාන්ත කොටස්කරුවන් සමඟ සම්බන්ධ වීමට සහ ලෝකයේ වඩාත්ම බලගතු ස්වර්ණාභරණ වෙළඳපොළක් පිළිබඳ වටිනා අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගැනීමට විශිෂ්ට අවස්ථාවක් සපයයි.
මෙම නියෝජිත පිරිස, බොම්බේ වාණිජ හා කර්මාන්ත මණ්ඩලය (BCCI), මහාරාෂ්ට්ර වාණිජ, කර්මාන්ත සහ කෘෂිකර්ම මණ්ඩලය (MACCIA), ලෝක වෙළඳ මධ්යස්ථානය මුම්බායි, සමස්ත ඉන්දීය කර්මාන්ත සංගමය, ජාත්යන්තර ආයෝජන සහ ව්යාපාර මණ්ඩලය (ICIB) සහ පූනේහි මහාරාට්ටා වාණිජ, කර්මාන්ත සහ කෘෂිකර්ම මණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු ප්රමුඛ පෙළේ ඉන්දියානු මණ්ඩල සහ ව්යාපාරික සංවිධාන සමඟ ද සම්බන්ධ වූහ.
මෙම කටයුතු මගින් වෙළඳාම, මූලාශ්ර, ආයෝජන, තාක්ෂණ හවුල්කාරිත්වයන් සහ ව්යාපාරික සහයෝගීතාව සඳහා, විශේෂයෙන් මැණික් හා ස්වර්ණාභරණ අංශයේ නව අවස්ථා ගවේෂණය කිරීම සඳහා වැදගත් වේදිකාවක් නිර්මාණය විය.
ස්වාභාවික මැණික්, දක්ෂ ශිල්පීය හැකියාවන්, කර්මාන්ත විශේෂඥතාව සහ අගය එකතු කළ ස්වර්ණාභරණ සඳහා ගෝලීය වශයෙන් පිළිගත් ශක්තීන් ශ්රී ලංකාව සතුව ඇත. අපගේ සමාගම් සහ කර්මාන්ත කොටස්කරුවන් ඉන්දියාවේ පුළුල් නිෂ්පාදන, වෙළඳාම සහ සිල්ලර පරිසර පද්ධතිය සමඟ සම්බන්ධ කිරීමෙන්, ශක්තිමත් වාණිජ සම්බන්ධතා සහ වර්ධනය සඳහා නව මාර්ග නිර්මාණය කිරීම අපගේ අරමුණයි.
2027 ජනවාරි 14 සිට 17 දක්වා කොළඹ BMICH හිදී පැවැත්වෙන ශ්රී ලංකා එක්ස්පෝ 2027 ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීමට ලැබීම ගැන මම සතුටු වෙමි. ඉන්දියානු සහ ජාත්යන්තර ගැනුම්කරුවන්ට ශ්රී ලංකාවට පැමිණෙන ලෙස මම ආරාධනා කළ අතර, විශේෂයෙන් දියුණු තාක්ෂණයන්, යන්ත්රෝපකරණ සහ අපගේ අපනයන කර්මාන්තවලට අදාළ අනෙකුත් අංශවල නියැලී සිටින සමාගම් මෙම වැදගත් ජාත්යන්තර අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වන ලෙස දිරිමත් කළෙමි.
මෙම සංචාරය මගින් විභවය ප්රායෝගික වාණිජ අවස්ථා බවට පරිවර්තනය කිරීමේදී ව්යාපාරයෙන් ව්යාපාරයට සෘජුව සම්බන්ධ වීමේ වැදගත්කම පෙන්නුම් කරයි. මෙම වැඩසටහන අතරතුර ආරම්භ කරන ලද සබඳතා සහ සාකච්ඡා ශ්රී ලංකා-ඉන්දියානු ආර්ථික සහයෝගීතාව ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට සහ අපගේ අපනයනකරුවන් සඳහා නව අවස්ථා විවෘත කිරීමට දායක වනු ඇතැයි මම විශ්වාස කරමි.

🇱🇰🤝🇮🇳 Strengthening Sri Lanka–India Trade Through New Opportunities in Gem & Jewellery
India is one of the world’s most important jewellery manufacturing, trading and consumer markets. For Sri Lanka, strengthening our engagement with this dynamic market presents significant opportunities to expand exports, build business partnerships and attract investment into our renowned Gem & Jewellery industry.
I was pleased to lead the Sri Lankan Business Delegation to India from 8–13 August 2026, organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) with the support of the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai.
Our programme commenced with a visit to the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) in Mumbai, providing an excellent opportunity to engage with leading buyers, manufacturers, traders, exhibitors and industry stakeholders and gain valuable insights into one of the world's most influential jewellery markets.
The delegation also engaged with leading Indian chambers and business organisations, including the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA), World Trade Centre Mumbai, All India Association of Industries, International Chamber of Investment and Business (ICIB) and the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture, Pune.
These engagements created an important platform to explore new opportunities for trade, sourcing, investment, technology partnerships and business collaboration, particularly in the Gem & Jewellery sector.
Sri Lanka possesses globally recognised strengths in natural gemstones, skilled craftsmanship, industry expertise and value-added jewellery. By connecting our companies and industry stakeholders with India's extensive manufacturing, trading and retail ecosystem, we aim to create stronger commercial linkages and new pathways for growth.
I was also pleased to promote Sri Lanka Expo 2027, which will be held from 14–17 January 2027 at BMICH, Colombo. I invited Indian and international buyers to visit Sri Lanka and encouraged companies, particularly those involved in advanced technologies, machinery and other sectors relevant to our export industries, to participate in this important international event.
This visit demonstrates the importance of direct business-to-business engagement in transforming potential into practical commercial opportunities. I am confident that the relationships and discussions initiated during this programme will contribute towards strengthening Sri Lanka–India economic cooperation and opening new opportunities for our exporters.
