Board consists of 06 members including the Chairman with 02 members (Ex

-Officio) and 03 elected members. The Kalutara Health Board, which was the predecessor to Kalutara to Kalutara Urban Council had functioned till 15th December 1922, and replaced by the Urban Council, which was established, with effect from 01st January 1923. The First meeting of the Kalutara Urban Council was held on 06th january 1923. Abrew. Accordingly, the Kalutara Urban Council, which enjoys a long History in the Local Government sector of this country, had been functioned under 25 Chairmen since its inception in the year 1923 is presently constituted under No. 61 of the Urban Council Ordinance.
