තිල්ලිඅඩිය කඩොලාන වනාන්තරය වනස්පති යටතේ ආරක්ෂා වුණා
පුත්තලම දිස්ත්රික්කයේ, කල්පිටිය ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසය තුළ, පුත්තලම කලපුවට මායිම්ව හෙක්ටයාර් 13.06ක (අක්කර 32කට ආසන්න) භූමි ප්රමාණයක පැතිර පවතින "තිල්ලිඅඩිය කඩොලාන වනාන්තරය" යනු හුදෙක් ගස් කොළන් රැසක් පමණක් නොවේ. එය ජෛව විවිධත්වයෙන් අනූන, දැඩි සංවේදී සහ අමිල පාරිසරික සේවාවන් රැසක් සපයන ජීවමාන පද්ධතියක්.
මෙම වනාන්තරයෙහි සුවිශේෂත්වය වන්නේ එය "අන්තර් උදම් කලාපය" (Intertidal Zone) තුළ පිහිටා තිබීමයි.

Thilliadiya Mangrove Forest Protected Under the 'Vanaspathi' National Program
Spanning 13.06 hectares (nearly 32 acres) bordering the Puttalam Lagoon in the Kalpitiya Divisional Secretariat Division of the Puttalam District, the "Thilliadiya Mangrove Forest" is far more than just a cluster of trees. It is a living, highly sensitive ecosystem rich in biodiversity that renders invaluable ecological services.
The uniqueness of this forest lies in its location within the "intertidal zone." As a result of daily tidal cycles, this floral community thrives in an environment that is alternately submerged by high tide and exposed to dry air at low tide. Mangrove flora's remarkable adaptations to this demanding environment—such as specialized root systems and unique seed germination (vivipary) enabling them to withstand high salinity and remain anchored in oxygen-depleted muddy soils—are prominently displayed throughout this forest.
The decision to legally declare this sensitive ecosystem a protected forest reserve under the 'Vanaspathi' National Program is a timely and vital measure.
