International day of action for plot awareness and ground shooting is April 4th
A special program for this day was held at Waleoya Athawatuna Lake Central School.
The event was organized by the National Center of Active for ground shootings belonging to the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing.
After the communal war that ended in 2009, a Sri Lankan Parliament Act of 2010 started the organization to remove lands in the northern and northern central provinces and secure the land.
Two local civil organizations and two foreign civil organizations are doing great service for the safety of the people by providing financial grants and workers for the process.
These civil organizations are MAG, HALO Trust, DASH, SHARP. These companies have currently provided over $250 million in USD for the process.
The Sri Lankan Army Engineering Force is also working to remove ground gunshots as another party.
The main objective of this program was to educate school children about placement and explosives still available on the ground.

Mulativ District Secretary S. Jayakanth, Welioya Divisional Secretary Deepal Nishantha, Chief Lieptinon Commander B.M. Herath of Welioya 211 Army Forces and Mrs. Priyadarshani Hakmanage, Principal of Athawatuna Lake Central School also attended it.
Around 2645 workforce is in service and they have destroyed 929,000 landslides, 157084 unexploded places in these areas. 2256 war tank killer bombs and 1272110 minor weapons are also waving among them.
1308 square kilometers, the ground area which has been secured so far. There are more types of things. About 22 meters of landscapes to be removed. The people of 917984 who have been awakened have been able to rehabilitate them in those areas.
There was a drama and drawing competition to aware the school children, and there was a tribute to the children today.
