On this International Day of Families in 2026, we recognize that strong families are the foundation of child wellbeing and social justice. Inequalities in income, education, health, and protection continue to affect the lives of millions of children and families around the world. Together, we must promote inclusive policies, positive parenting, safe environments, and equal opportunities for every child to grow with dignity, care, and hope.

Family Wellbeing Centre, together with our partners and donors, stands committed to strengthening families through prevention, social and behaviour change, and community action for a healthier and more equitable future for all children.

15/05/2026

On this International Day of Families 2026, Family Wellbeing Centre extends warm wishes to all families around the world. Families are the foundation of love, care, resilience, and positive social change. Every family has a unique journey filled with challenges, growth, and shared dreams.

Today, we celebrate the strength of families who continue to build healthier and more sustainable futures through understanding, compassion, and positive behaviour change. By promoting respect, communication, equality, and wellbeing within families, we can create stronger communities and a more peaceful society for future generations.

Let us continue walking together on pathways that nurture healthy relationships, protect children, empower women, and support collective wellbeing. Small positive actions within families can create lasting impacts across communities and society.

Wishing every family happiness, unity, good health, and hope on this special day.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup should inspire health, unity, and positive youth development — not become a platform for aggressive alcohol marketing.

Big Alcohol corporations are using the world’s biggest sporting event to normalize drinking among young people and rebuild alcohol consumption among Gen Z. Through celebrity endorsements, sports sponsorships, digital campaigns, and youth-targeted branding, alcohol companies are turning passion for football into profit at the expense of public health.

Young people deserve safe, healthy, alcohol-free spaces to enjoy sport without manipulation from industries linked to addiction, violence, road traffic injuries, mental health problems, and non-communicable diseases.
