BCU Newly Elected Student Union Leaders Thank Students, Promise Unity and Accountability

The newly elected leaders of the B**g County University (BCU) Student Union have thanked students for overwhelmingly voting for all seven candidates of the Student Progressive Congress (SPC) in the recently concluded student government elections.
Speaking Thursday during an interview on Super B**gese Radio, President-elect Soko Amedio Brown and members of his leadership team expressed gratitude to the student body for the trust and confidence placed in them to lead student affairs over the next two semesters.
The officials said the election is now over and called on all students to unite and work together for the growth and development of the university.
They also urged members of opposition student political parties to contribute constructive ideas that will help advance the interests of students and strengthen the university community.
As part of efforts to promote peace and unity following the election, the new leadership disclosed plans to organize a reconciliation program involving officials and supporters of the various student political parties on campus.
Meanwhile, President-elect Brown reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability. He revealed that one of his first actions in office will be to conduct an audit of funds and materials managed by the outgoing administration headed by Alfred Kollie.
Brown pledged to provide student-centered leadership and assured students that accountability, transparency, fairness, and good governance will remain key priorities of his administration.
On June 23, 2026, the Student Progressive Congress (SPC) recorded a landslide victory in the B**g County University Student Government elections, winning all seven elective positions.
According to final results released by the Elections Commission, SPC candidates secured commanding victories across every contested position, defeating candidates of the Student Democratic Alliance–Students Unification Party (STUDA-SUP).
In the presidential race, SPC obtained 656 votes compared to 97 votes for STUDA-SUP.
For vice president, SPC received 681 votes, while STUDA-SUP garnered 76 votes.
SPC also won the positions of Senate Representative to the Faculty, General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Chaplain, and Treasurer by wide margins.
The results reflect strong support from the student body for the SPC ticket, which successfully captured all seven seats in the Student Council Government.
