Retirement from a very long professional career can evoke mixed emotions; from excitement and relief to anxiety and uncertainty. While some anticipate the freedom and new opportunities, other grapple with the loss of identity, routine, and social connections associated with their careers. It is a common experience of both anticipation for the future and apprehension about the unknown.
For the sixty (60) retired employees of the Judiciary Branch of Government, retirement is a prospect of a less stressful life, more leisure time, and the ability to pursue personal interest.
Cllr. William B. Kollie, Sr. Court Administrator of the Supreme Court of Liberia in a welcome statement on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the honoring program for retired employees of the Judiciary said those who labor well at the end of their professional careers deserve honor.
Cllr. Kollie quoting from the Bible scripture 2Timothy chapter-4 said Paul told Timothy that he (Timothy) had labor well and as such, there is a great reward that awaits him in heaven. This means that even paradise honors those who labor well on earth.
The Court Administrator stated that when an individual work and reach the point of retirement, its clear evidence that he/she has labor well. “Many people work in a professional environment but their services don’t end good as some get sick, died, dismissed or resigned. The Judiciary Branch of Government on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, has officially lighted its Christmas tree at the grounds of the Temple of Justice in Monrovia, whishing all employees a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, a moment symbolizing hope and new beginnings. Even for those who aren’t Christian, the season represents the idea that light can enter the world during its darkest moments.

Christmas brings people together. Families reunite, communities organize events, and people make time for one another. This emphasis on togetherness and connection is one of the holiday’s most cherished aspects.

At program marking the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the Chaplain of the Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia Rev. J. Joel Gould in a word of prayer and exaltation from the scripture of Isaiah Chapter 9:2 in the Bible says: “The people who walk in darkness have seen great light; those who live in land of deep darkness, on them, light has shine.”

Rev. Gould preaching under the theme ‘Darkness vs. Light’ said darkness and light appeared in the beginning but they both are never friends. They can’t be mixed or coexist in the same space at the same time. As the matter of fact, wherever there is darkness and when light appears, darkness disappear.

Rev. Gould preached that the Bible says in the beginning there was chaos during the time darkness was upon the face of the earth but the spirit of God came as the light of the world. Today as we light this beautifully dressed Christmas tree, I pray that God’s light will shine in our hearts so that we can do the works of God.

The Chief Justice of the Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. in a Christmas message said even though Liberia is not a Christian or Islamic nation but equally so, the country was established on the Christian doctrine.

Chief Justice Gbeisay said the ceremony of lighting a Christmas tree is part of Liberia’s long standing history and tradition. “As we gather to celebrate the spirit of Christmas under the tradition handed down by our forefathers, I extend my warmest wishes to all Liberians and friends of Liberia.”

The Chief Justice noted that this season reminds every one of the value of love, compassion and unity amongst others. He stated as Chief Justice, he is reminded of the profound legacy of Christmas – a symbol of peace, hope, unity and love.

His Honor the Chief Justice reading a scripture from John chapter 13:34 in the Bible said the Lord Jesus Christ left us with a power message which says: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

He encouraged everybody as God’s children be it Muslims or Christians to embrace his message and strive for peace, love and unity in the nation. He hopes that 2026 will bring a Judiciary that’s discipline and corruption free – a Judiciary that will enjoy national and international credibility.

The Christmas tree lighting program was a colorful and joyous event that included preaching and singing. It was graced by the full bench of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Judges, lawyers, directors, employees of the Judiciary and other Liberians. http://judiciary.gov.lr/judiciary-branch-of-government-lights-christmas-tree/

The attention of the Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia has been drawn to a false, misleading and malicious news article being published by various news media without any of these media institutions endeavoring to ascertain the facts surrounding the enforcement of a court’s judgment from the Judiciary.
The news article, which was obviously written by a single author and circulated to these media outlets, seeks to erroneously mislead the reading and listening public to believe that the enforcement of a Writ of Ex*****on, growing out of an Action of Debt, which was ordered enforced by the Judge of the National Labor Court, was a personal attempt by His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr., intended to target Liberian Investment in our country, which is nothing but a calculated attempt to use the judiciary as a coverup by persons who have fallen foul of the law.
The facts of the matter are that an Action of Debt by Attachment, between...
