Former President George Weah’s religious adviser, Rev. Emmanuel Nimely has vehemently rejected allegation of duping over ninety Liberians.

Report has it that the Reverend was arrested, handcuffed and thrown behind bars on Sunday for allegedly receiving at least $700usd from each of the victims for visa processing to Australia .

But, Speaking to Spoon Today Show, Rev. Emmanuel Nimely said the money paid was a Visa fee which is non-refundable.

The Forky Klon Church Pastor said the Conference Participants were denied as a result of an alarm raised by Prophet Key.

The Clergyman said he was not arrested but he is currently at the Headquarters of the police.

African Development Bank Announces Mobilization Of More Than $ 3.5 Billion For the Liberty Corridor

June 1, 2024

NAIROBI, KENYA: The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina says the Bank is mobilizing 3.5 to 5 billion dollars for the Liberty Corridor linking Liberia and the Republic of Guinea.

In a stunning revelation in his opening speech at the Bank’s 2024 Annual Meeting which was held in Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Adesina announced, among a list of other initiatives on the African continent, that the Bank is, “mobilizing $3.5 billion to $5 billion towards the development of the Liberty corridor to link Liberia and Guinea.” His speech was delivered on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Kenyatta International Conference Center.

Among other initiatives outlined by Dr. Adesina were the raising of $3.2 billion by the AfDB for the East Africa standard gauge railway connecting Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi; providing $500 million towards the development of the Lobito corridor to link Zambia, Angola and the DRC; and mobilizing $375 million for financing the railway linking Nigeria to Niger Republic.

Another was the Bank’s engagement with partners of the Africa Investment Forum to mobilize $15.6 billion of investment commitment towards the development of the Lagos-Abidjan corridor.

Touting his Bank as a solution and impact-driven bank, the AfDB Leader declared that the African Development Bank Group is in a very strong financial shape ready to contribute to major development projects on the Continent.

He projected that Africa’s real GDP growth will rise from 3.1% in 2023 to 3.7% in 2024, and up to 4.3% in 2025, noting that “African economies are showing resilience, despite the challenges posed by climate change, geopolitical tensions, global inflation and rising debt, among others.”

NO MORE EXCUSES FOR WATER SUPPLY BY THE LIBERIA NATIONAL FIRE SERVICE (LNFS), SAYS THE LIBERIA WATER AND SEWER CORPORATION (LWSC).

MONROVIA - LIBERIA (May 31, 2024): No more excuses for Water Supply by the Liberia National Fire Service, The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC), lamented.

The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) announces to the public on their official page that there is "SURPLUS WATER" for "FIRE EMERGENCY" and as such several Fire Trucks can now get Water simultaneously from Multiple Hydrants across Monrovia.

According to LWSC, there have been additional installations of Fire Hydrant in the street of Monrovia at The United Methodist University (UMU) and close to the Operations station of the Liberia National Fire Service.

The outbreak of Fire cases in the country since the beginning of this year 2024 is alarming and has raised concerns about fear and failure of the intervention of the Liberia National Fire Service to combat a single situation.

The LNFS had a complaint about the difficulty of Water Supply and lack of mobility to speedy engage the situation.

However, the LWSC has cautioned the public that "FIRE TRUCKS" can now get Water constantly from Multiple Hydrants across Monrovia.

"Several Fire Trucks can now get Water simultaneously from our multiple Hydrants across Monrovia", LWSC added.

As a result of adequate water supply, the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation mouth the public to desist from sentimental statements of the Fire Service arriving at fire scenes with "EMPTY TRUCKS".

"No one coming lie that fire service can go to fire scenes with empty Trucks"...., says LWSC.
