Committed to a healthier Liberia, the National AIDS Commission participates in the Health Sector Review Conference focused on "Introducing Universal Health Insurance in Liberia." Universal health coverage is essential to sustaining the gains made in the national HIV response and improving health outcomes for all.

The Conference which takes place at the Paynesville City Hall is expected to host Stakeholders and Implementing partners within the sector as well as providing expertise and strategies as to how gains made could be sustained..

Global Reach II turns over Transition Plan, calls for Sustainability

Global Reach II Project hands over Transitional Plan to NAC.

Global reach II, a major HIV Prevention, initiative implemented by JHPIEGO with support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), has turned over its transitional Plan to the National AIDS Commission.

The GR II Project worked closely with the National AIDS Commission, Ministry of Health, and CSOs as well as other implementing Partners to strengthen Liberia's HIV response, aimed at supporting the Country’s efforts in achieving its Global 95-95-95 targets.

An event marked with lasting memories was witnessed by NAC and NACP.

Global Reach II will be greatly remembered for her role played during her implementation period especially in building the capacity of health Care workers. During the implementation, they provided Client- Centered Services, including HIV testing, Linkage to Treatment, adherence to counseling, and retention in PrEP services.

Additionally, gains made during the implementation period, is the scaling up of Pre- Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) among key and vulnerable populations in supporting counties in Liberia to mention Nimba and Grand counties

Speaking on June 23, 2026 at the offices of the AIDS Commission, the project Lead and Program Manager Lauretta W. Nagbe lauded the Government of Liberia through its relevant institutions for the level of support received during its operations in liberia.
" We can only be more happier when the government of Liberia sustains the gains made as it is our hope that the Roadmap turned over today be utilized "

For his part, the Commissioner for Program and Policy at the NAC, Dr Mohammed Swaray thanked the GR II team for butressing government's effort by supporting key HIV programs in Liberia,

He assured the team of government's commitment to continue activities that have led to significant progress in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

"With this Transitional document, we are committed to elevating it at the level of the Presidency and make sure Sustainability remains paramount"

The Global Reach project a five year plan which commenced October of 2021, will finally phase out September, 2026
