Participates in AAID Pillar III Sectoral Meeting on Rule of Law

Monrovia, Liberia – July 14, 2026 – The National Center for the Coordination of Response Mechanism (NCCRM) today participated in the Sectoral Meeting for Pillar III – Rule of Law under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening governance, justice, security, and national coordination in Liberia.

Representing the NCCRM at the meeting were Madam Sophie MP Reeves, Deputy Executive Director, and Mr. Dennis J. Bowah, Security Analyst.

The sectoral meeting was jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) as part of the Government of Liberia's ongoing efforts to coordinate the implementation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development. The gathering brought together the NCCRM, Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency, Liberia National Police, the Liberia Fire Service, Liberia Immigration Service, and security stakeholders to assess progress, identify challenges, and strengthen collaboration in advancing the Rule of Law pillar.

During the discussions, participants examined strategic priorities aimed at promoting justice, enhancing public safety, improving institutional accountability, and reinforcing the legal and governance framework necessary for sustainable national development.

The participation of the NCCRM underscores the institution's vital role in supporting national peace, security coordination, early warning, and evidence-based policy analysis. As a coordinating institution, the NCCRM continues to collaborate with government ministries, agencies, and development partners to strengthen national resilience and promote informed decision-making.

Speaking following the meeting, the NCCRM delegation reaffirmed the institution's commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the Rule of Law pillar through effective coordination, timely analysis, and strategic engagement with relevant stakeholders.

The NCCRM remains dedicated to working alongside national and international partners to promote peace, security, good governance, and sustainable development in line with the Government of Liberia's ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

NCCRM SITUATION ROOM ANALYSIS SESSION FOCUSES ON EBOLA PREPAREDNESS
Monrovia, Liberia – May 27, 2026:

The National Center for the Coordination of Response Mechanism (NCCRM) today convened its regular Situation Room Analysis Session, bringing together Liberia Peace Building Office (PBO) representatives, Women NGO Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL), and all NCCRM Analysts under the leadership of the Executive Director, Hon. Arthur Bestman.

The session also witnessed the participation of the Deputy Executive Director, Hon. Sophie MP Reeves, as stakeholders deliberated on emerging national risks and coordinated response strategies aimed at strengthening national preparedness and resilience.

A major focus of today’s session centered on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness, with discussions emphasizing the urgent need to identify and address gaps in prevention levels across counties and communities. Participants examined current preparedness measures, early warning systems, public awareness efforts, response coordination, and risk communication mechanisms to ensure Liberia remains vigilant and prepared against any potential outbreak threats.

Key discussion points during the session included:
Update on Ebola Preparedness; Report of Burkinabe allegedly attacking Mining Inspectors in Gbarpolu County; and LDEA operation leading to the uprooting of ma*****na plants in Nimba County.

Today, the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency, Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr commissioned Hon. Arthur Bestman, Executive Director of MCCRM-Liberia, Hon. Sophie MP Reeves, Deputy Executive Director, and other officials of the Liberian Government.

We, the family of the National Center for the Coordination of Response Mechanism-NCCRM-LIB, are glad that for the very first time, since the establishment of the Center, the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director are commissioned by the President of Liberia.
