May 31, 2026
Title: Sinoe Diaspora: The Power of Our Extensions
The Superintendent of Sinoe County, Honorable Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr., delivered a powerful and inspiring message aimed at motivating and mobilizing Sinoe citizens in the Delaware River Valley to become active partners in the county’s development and transformation.
Addressing the President and members of the Delaware River Chapter, officials and members of the Sinoe Citizens in the Americas at the national level, honored guests, and distinguished sons and daughters of Sinoe, Superintendent Sleweon emphasized the indispensable role of diaspora citizens in shaping the future of Sinoe County.
“I greet you not only as your Superintendent, but as a fellow custodian of our county’s destiny,” he stated.
“Today, I speak with urgency, pride, and conviction: Sinoe’s future is not a distant dream; it is a mission we must fulfill together, both at home and abroad.”
The Superintendent stressed that Sinoe citizens living abroad are not outsiders but essential extensions of the county’s growth and development.
“Diaspora Sinoeans are not outsiders; they are Sinoe’s living extension. Every achievement you make abroad is a victory for Sinoe.
Every skill you acquire, every network you build, and every resource you gather contribute directly to our collective growth.”
He called for the elimination of divisions between those at home and those abroad, emphasizing that Sinoe remains “one body, one family, and one destiny.”
Highlighting critical sectors requiring immediate support, Hon. Sleweon underscored the need for:
- Scholarships, mentorship, and educational support to guide and empower young people;
- Investments, innovation, and strategic partnerships in agriculture and business to transform the county’s natural resources into sustainable prosperity;
- Greater civic engagement and accountability through active participation in governance and leadership development.
“Your county needs you—not tomorrow, but today,” he declared.
The Superintendent urged Sinoe citizens to envision a future where schools thrive, healthcare systems provide dignified services, roads connect communities, and young people encounter opportunities instead of barriers.
He further emphasized that success in nation-building requires more than individual effort.
“Success in any great endeavor is never the product of a single ingredient,” he said. “It is a symphony of elements working together in harmony.
Knowledge, discipline, creativity, resilience, and collaboration are all essential components of sustainable development.”
Addressing the leadership of the Delaware River Chapter of the Sinoe Citizens in the Americas, Hon. Sleweon outlined key recommendations:
• Champion creativity by welcoming bold ideas and nurturing innovation;
• Cultivate resilience by viewing setbacks as stepping stones toward progress;
• Elevate collaboration by respecting differences and building stronger connections;
• Balance ambition with empathy to ensure that development benefits entire communities.
In closing, he called upon all Sinoe citizens, particularly those in the diaspora, to rise to the responsibility of contributing to their county’s advancement.
“The time is now. The call is clear. Together, we can rise,” he declared. “Let us show Liberia and the world that Sinoe is not waiting for change, it is creating change.
Together, we will build a Sinoe that is strong, prosperous, and proud.”
He concluded with a message of unity and shared responsibility:
“The time is now. The responsibility is ours. The future belongs to Sinoe. Sinoe Rising: at home and abroad, one destiny, one people. May God bless us all.”
At the conclusion of the program, Honorable Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. served as the Installation Officer and was thereafter honored and ceremonially gowned by the citizens in recognition of his service and contributions to the development efforts in Sinoe County.
