Superintendent Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. Delivers Inspiring Address to Sinoe Citizens in the Delaware River Valley

May 31, 2026

Title: Sinoe Diaspora: The Power of Our Extensions

The Superintendent of Sinoe County, Honorable Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr., delivered a powerful and inspiring message aimed at motivating and mobilizing Sinoe citizens in the Delaware River Valley to become active partners in the county’s development and transformation.

Addressing the President and members of the Delaware River Chapter, officials and members of the Sinoe Citizens in the Americas at the national level, honored guests, and distinguished sons and daughters of Sinoe, Superintendent Sleweon emphasized the indispensable role of diaspora citizens in shaping the future of Sinoe County.

“I greet you not only as your Superintendent, but as a fellow custodian of our county’s destiny,” he stated.
“Today, I speak with urgency, pride, and conviction: Sinoe’s future is not a distant dream; it is a mission we must fulfill together, both at home and abroad.”

The Superintendent stressed that Sinoe citizens living abroad are not outsiders but essential extensions of the county’s growth and development.

“Diaspora Sinoeans are not outsiders; they are Sinoe’s living extension. Every achievement you make abroad is a victory for Sinoe.
Every skill you acquire, every network you build, and every resource you gather contribute directly to our collective growth.”

He called for the elimination of divisions between those at home and those abroad, emphasizing that Sinoe remains “one body, one family, and one destiny.”

Highlighting critical sectors requiring immediate support, Hon. Sleweon underscored the need for:

- Scholarships, mentorship, and educational support to guide and empower young people;

- Investments, innovation, and strategic partnerships in agriculture and business to transform the county’s natural resources into sustainable prosperity;

- Greater civic engagement and accountability through active participation in governance and leadership development.

“Your county needs you—not tomorrow, but today,” he declared.

The Superintendent urged Sinoe citizens to envision a future where schools thrive, healthcare systems provide dignified services, roads connect communities, and young people encounter opportunities instead of barriers.
He further emphasized that success in nation-building requires more than individual effort.

“Success in any great endeavor is never the product of a single ingredient,” he said. “It is a symphony of elements working together in harmony.
Knowledge, discipline, creativity, resilience, and collaboration are all essential components of sustainable development.”

Addressing the leadership of the Delaware River Chapter of the Sinoe Citizens in the Americas, Hon. Sleweon outlined key recommendations:

• Champion creativity by welcoming bold ideas and nurturing innovation;

• Cultivate resilience by viewing setbacks as stepping stones toward progress;

• Elevate collaboration by respecting differences and building stronger connections;

• Balance ambition with empathy to ensure that development benefits entire communities.

In closing, he called upon all Sinoe citizens, particularly those in the diaspora, to rise to the responsibility of contributing to their county’s advancement.

“The time is now. The call is clear. Together, we can rise,” he declared. “Let us show Liberia and the world that Sinoe is not waiting for change, it is creating change.
Together, we will build a Sinoe that is strong, prosperous, and proud.”

He concluded with a message of unity and shared responsibility:

“The time is now. The responsibility is ours. The future belongs to Sinoe. Sinoe Rising: at home and abroad, one destiny, one people. May God bless us all.”

At the conclusion of the program, Honorable Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. served as the Installation Officer and was thereafter honored and ceremonially gowned by the citizens in recognition of his service and contributions to the development efforts in Sinoe County.

Superintendent Sleweon Wraps Up Local Government Tour, Pledges Swift Action on Development Priorities in Wacaba and Seekon Districts

May 18, 2026

The Superintendent of Sinoe County, Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon, has pledged his administration’s commitment to addressing longstanding development challenges and improving service delivery in Wacaba and Seekon Districts during the second phase of the Sinoe County Local Government Tour, held from May 13–15, 2026.

The tour, which continues to serve as a platform for direct engagement between the county administration and citizens, brought together local authorities, sector representatives, traditional leaders, and residents to discuss pressing development needs and identify practical solutions for sustainable progress.

WACABA DISTRICT HIGHLIGHTS KEY DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES

In Pyne Town, residents of Wacaba District warmly welcomed Superintendent Sleweon and his delegation and used the occasion to outline several critical challenges confronting the district.
Among the principal concerns raised were:

1. Lack of a youth center.
2. Limited community benefits from forestry concession operations.
3. Deplorable road conditions along the Pyne Town–Grand Gedeh corridor.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM WACABA AND SEEKON DISTRICTS
Stakeholders recommended the following interventions:

1. Renovation of the Administrative Building in Pyne Town.
2. Renovation of the Pyne Town City Hall.
3. Recruitment and deployment of qualified teachers and health practitioners in both districts.
4. Construction of an Administrative Building in Bahlawen.
5. Inclusion of Seekon District in the Sinoe County Development Plan with clearly defined implementation projects
6. Construction of a City Hall in Pellokon.

District Commissioners and local leaders also expressed appreciation to Superintendent Sleweon for the county tour and pledged their continued cooperation in advancing the county’s development agenda.

Speaking at the engagement meetings in Pyne Town, the County Health Officer, Dr. John S. Yarngrorble, announced plans, in consultation with the local government and the Ministry of Health, to construct additional clinic facilities to enhance healthcare delivery in the district.

Speaking on behalf of the Joint Security, Police Commander Augustine Warri assured residents that Wacaba and Seekon Districts would be adequately equipped with security personnel and logistics to maintain peace and public safety.

SUPERINTENDENT SLEWEON ANNOUNCES KEY INTERVENTIONS FOR WACABA AND SEEKON:

In his remarks, Superintendent Sleweon thanked the people of Wacaba District, led by District Superintendent Kweku Queelay, and the people of Seekon District, under the leadership of District Superintendent Viola Saywiah, for the warm, jubilant, and impressive reception accorded his delegation.

He disclosed that discussions involving his office, the Representative of Electoral District #3, Hon. Alex S. Noah, counterparts from Grand Gedeh County, and the Ministry of Public Works had produced a mutual understanding to rehabilitate the Pyne Town–Grand Gedeh corridor.
Plans are also underway to reopen blocked alleys in Pyne Town to improve movement within the city.

The Superintendent urged parents and guardians to prioritize the education of their children, emphasizing that education remains the cornerstone of future opportunity and development.

He further announced that a technical team will be dispatched to assess the Administrative Building and City Hall in Pyne Town for possible renovation, as well as coordinate efforts for the construction of the Pellokon City Hall, in collaboration with the National Government and the Sinoe County Council.

Regarding forestry concessions, Superintendent Sleweon encouraged communities to thoroughly review Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) to ensure they provide meaningful and measurable benefits to host communities.

The county administration under the leadership of Hon. Sleweon also announced plans to convene a high-level dialogue involving local authorities, the County Education Officer, and other stakeholders to develop a coordinated strategy to remove underage children from mining camps and return them to school.
This initiative reflects the county administration’s commitment to child protection and ensuring that every child has access to education.

Hon. Alexander Nah Sleweon further cautioned citizens of Sinoe County against entering into 60–40 benefit-sharing arrangements with Burkinabè farmers without proper legal documentation.

The Sinoe County Local Government Tour remains a vital mechanism for identifying development priorities, strengthening accountability, and fostering partnerships that promote inclusive and sustainable development across Sinoe County.
