Koijee Hails John Morlu as Liberia's Integrity Icon

CDC Secretary General Jefferson Koijee has described former Auditor General John Sembe Morlu II as an "integrity icon" and one of Liberia's finest public servants.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Congress for Democratic Change, Koijee praised Morlu's contributions to public accountability and financial transparency during his tenure as Auditor General of Liberia.

The CDC Secretary General said Morlu distinguished himself as a principled professional who consistently championed accountability and good governance. He credited the former Auditor General with helping to strengthen oversight mechanisms and promoting transparency in the management of public resources.

Koijee also hailed Morlu's professional accomplishments beyond Liberia, noting his work as a Certified Public Accountant and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of JS Morlu LLC.

The CDC official further described Morlu as one of Lofa County's most accomplished sons, saying his achievements have brought pride to both the county and the nation.

According to Koijee, Morlu's legacy in public service continues to serve as an example for current and future generations of Liberians committed to integrity, accountability, and national development.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LIBERIA NATIONAL POLICE ARRESTS THREE PERSONS IN CONNECTION WITH VIRAL MOB VIOLENCE VIDEO

Monrovia, Liberia – May 29, 2026 – The Liberia National Police (LNP) confirms the arrest of three persons in connection with the disturbing video circulating on social media in which a young man was seen tied up and violently assaulted by a group of individuals.

The Liberia National Police strongly condemns the act, describing it as inhumane, unlawful, and a serious violation of the victim’s rights and dignity. Mob violence and vigilante justice undermine the rule of law, place lives at risk, and interfere with the lawful administration of justice. Such conduct has no place in a democratic society and remains a criminal offense under the laws of Liberia.

Police authorities confirm that the three suspects are currently under investigation in connection with the incident, while efforts continue to identify and arrest all other individuals believed to have participated in or facilitated the attack. The Liberia National Police assures the public that all persons found responsible will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The Liberia National Police is also taking appropriate measures to ensure the protection and welfare of the victim while investigative processes continue.

The LNP wishes to make it categorically clear that no individual or group has the authority to assault, torture, humiliate, punish, or otherwise take the law into their own hands under any circumstance. Citizens are urged to report suspected criminal activity to the police and allow the justice system to take its lawful course.

The Police further calls on members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing credible information that may assist ongoing investigations and lead to the identification and arrest of additional suspects.

The Liberia National Police reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy against mob violence, vigilante attacks, and all forms of extrajudicial punishment. Anyone found engaging in, facilitating, or encouraging such unlawful acts will face the full weight of the law.

The suspects remain presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.

The Liberia National Police remains committed to protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of all persons across the Republic of Liberia and to ensuring that justice is administered through lawful and accountable processes.

George Weah lied , he didn’t spend dime LoneStar!

Another Former National team Player, this time Liberia’s 2002 African Cup of Nations goalkeeper Louis B Crayton Jr writes.....✍️

“Don’t be fooled! Every Jersey we wore 2002 World Cup and African Cup of Nations Qualifier was paid for by the Charles Taylor government. Every time we stayed at Kings lodge on 9th Street was paid for by the Charles Taylor government. Every food we ate was paid for by Charles Taylor government, excluding the 5,000 U.S that was paid to each player who came from abroad. And George Weah was paid 10,000 every time he came as technical director. These are factual evidence by me and any player on that team including Edwin Snowe”.
