(Gbloulay BuuYao June 25, 2026) The Nimba County Health Team (NCHT) has dedicated the Newly Renovated and Refurbished Gbloulay Community clinic in Gbloulay, BuuYao Health District to ensure quality health services for a population of over 7,000 across 10 catchment communities.

The project which also included the construction of a modern waste zone, borehole, water storage and supply system, solarization, equipment and training for health care workers, was funded by The French Development Agency (AFD) through Action Against Hunger (AAH/ACF)

The dedication ceremony brought together Representatives from Action Against Hunger, the Ministry of Health, The Nimba county health team, local government officials, traditional leaders, community leaders, religious leaders etc
The dedication of this newly renovated facility coincided with the 365-day action plan to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths, demonstrating the Nimba County health team commitment to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

and Inspection of main border points of entry in Nimba.

The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), in collaboration with the Nimba County Health Team, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC), has conducted a two-day EVD preparedness assessment mission in Nimba County, covering Loguatuo border, Yekepa border, and Ganta border as part of Liberia’s ongoing EVD preparedness efforts,

During the visits, engagements were held with border authorities and frontline personnel to assess preparedness measures and strengthen coordination.

The Nimba County Superintendent Hon. Kou Miapeh Gono has received and commissioned for service, the three (3) New Ambulances recently donated to the Nimba County Health team by the Ministry of Health and the Government of Liberia. The Superintendent who is also the County Health Board Chair, used the occasion to thank the Government and Ministry of health for the support to the Nimba county health system and called on the people of Nimba to use the service appropriately. She also thanked the county health team for their commitment to quality health service delivery in Nimba.
