The Movement of Progressives and Moderates is a political and social project which is made up of citizens who have one particular aspiration at heart – that of transforming the Maltese islands into one of the best countries to live in, in Europe.
This is what unites us as a movement; it is not the political colour or the family we were brought up in, but precisely this aspiration, this ambition.
As part of the movement we believe, that the best way to discover how to make Malta one of the best countries to live in, in Europe - is via consultation, via feedback and dialogue meetings with people and groups from all areas of society.
Consultation and dialogue are fundamental to be able to develop a national vision and put it into practice. One of the main goals of the movement is to promote a model of ‘consistent consultative governance’ which is close to all Maltese and Gozitan citizens, not only opportunistically before an election, but from the first day in government.
We are interested in teaming up with people who ‘walk the talk’ in their particular field of specialisation. If your intention is to pro actively promote progress, ideas and solutions for the improvement of Maltese Islands, beyond the partisan frame of mind, then this movement could very well be your natural home.
We are particularly open to work in synch. with persons who consider themselves apolitical, therefore including anyone who distinguishes him/herself from partisan mentalities. As a movement we are most interested in progress, in the betterment of society rather than who actually does and implements change or brings about progress.
Throughout the last months we have created a number of focus groups which are listed in the ‘Focus Groups or Issues’ section of www.progress.org.mt. These groups focus on various areas and themes which require specialisation. The nature of focus groups is one within which people can relate to and contribute even if they do not have technical or political expertise. The focus group involve young and old, experts and lay people, theorists and practitioners. Focus groups range widely to the extent that topics can vary from the pettiest day to day issues such as driving standards up to national and/or wider economic matters.
All focus groups have the ultimate aim of 'listening to the people' and thus as a result creating a progressive vision and direction for the Maltese Islands. This vision will take the form of a report for every topic, including recommendations which will be presented both to the government and opposition or other major institution in a way which is unpartisan and in a way which seeks progress and true change for the better without distinctions.
If you are also interested in giving your contribution – kindly like this page or join us via our facebook main group via https://www.facebook.com/groups/294281027264658/
If there is a specific issue or theme which is of interest, you're welcome to join one of our pages or groups which are listed under the ‘Focus groups or Issues’ section @ www.progress.org.mt.
We can also discuss the creation of a new focus group if required. We are a dynamic movement which will evolve according to the signs of the times and the themes which are relevant and of interest to you.
