On behalf of all the teaching, support, and ancillary staff at San Miguel School, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Head of School, Ms Denise Galea Pirotta, for her dedicated leadership and commitment over the past two years. We sincerely thank her for the many initiatives she introduced and for her unwavering efforts in serving the best interests of our entire school community.

We would also like to officially announce that our newly appointed Head of School, Mr Steve Grima, has formally assumed his role following the handover process and has already begun his duties by meeting both students and staff members.

We warmly welcome Mr Steve Grima to San Miguel School and wish him every success in his new position. We look forward to working together to continue strengthening our school for the benefit of all our students and the wider school community.

Today, the San Miguel School family gathered in faith and gratitude to celebrate a beautiful Thanksgiving Mass.

It was a meaningful occasion where students and members of the school community came together to offer thanks for the many blessings received throughout the year.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated and contributed to making this celebration a memorable and spiritually enriching experience.

May we continue to carry a spirit of thankfulness in our hearts and be inspired to share kindness, compassion, and hope wherever we go.

🌊☀️ Class 1 Water Play & Beach-Themed Sensory Fun! ☀️🌊

Our Class 1 students had a wonderful time exploring water play activities and engaging in beach-themed sensory play! 🏖️💦

The students enjoyed splashing, pouring and exploring different textures, to help develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and sensory awareness. Through hands-on exploration, they discovered new ways to learn and play while having lots of fun. ⛱️

Our beach-themed sensory activities encouraged imaginative play as the children explored seaside-inspired materials, creating their own little beach adventures. 🐚

🎥✨ San Miguel School is proud to be featured on the TVM programme Għall-Pubbliku!

During the filming, our students were taking part in a Maths Trail together with students from Sliema Primary through a reverse inclusion activity—one of the hallmarks of our school. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for all learners to learn, collaborate, and grow together in an inclusive environment.

The feature provided a wonderful glimpse into the vibrant life of our school, highlighting the dedication of our educators, and staff, as well as the values of inclusion, participation, and belonging that are at the heart of everything we do.

We thank the Għall-Pubbliku team and TVM for visiting our school and showcasing the important work taking place on a daily basis, within our community.

🎓✨ Celebrating a Milestone: Year 6 Graduation Ceremony ✨🎓

Last Friday, we celebrated a very special milestone as our Year 6 students took part in their Graduation Ceremony.

It was a memorable occasion filled with pride, joy, and reflection as we marked the end of their primary school journey and looked ahead to the exciting opportunities that await them. ✨

Over the years, our students have grown socially, and personally, creating friendships and memories that they will carry with them into the future. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and the wonderful young people they have become.

As they prepare to begin a new chapter in middle and secondary school, we wish them every success, happiness, and confidence to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Congratulations to all our Year 6 graduates! A sincere thank you to our staff, families, and everyone who supported our students throughout their journey.

🌟 Class 2 Sensory Bottle Activity – Learning Through Creativity! 🌟

Our Class 2 students created Sensory Bottles using recycled materials! ♻️✨ The students transformed empty plastic bottles into colourful sensory tools by filling them with a variety of recycled and reusable items. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, environmental awareness, and sensory exploration. 🥰

We are proud of our young learners for their enthusiastic participation in this eco-friendly activity! 💚

🌟 Class 4 Week Highlights 🌟

Throughout last week, students were engaged in a variety of exciting learning experiences that combined creativity, exploration, and hands-on discovery. 🎉

🫒 Making Caper Preserve
Students learned about traditional food preservation methods and had the opportunity to prepare their own caper preserve. This activity encouraged curiosity about local produce while developing practical life skills.

🚶 Exploring Pembroke on Foot
Our class enjoyed a walk around Pembroke, observing the open environment, specific landmarks, and community features. The outing ended with a trip to a local cafe for delicious treats.😋

🎨 Creative Art Activities
The children expressed their imagination and creativity through a range of art projects, experimenting with different materials, freestyle and ideas.

👐 Hands-On Learning Tasks
From collaborative projects to practical classroom activities, students actively engaged in learning through exploration, problem-solving, and teamwork. These experiences helped strengthen their confidence and communication skills.
