Girls in ICT Day 2026

The Girls in ICT Day (GICT), an initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is a global celebration that encourages girls and young women to explore opportunities in STEM and ICT, empowering them to become active contributors to the digital society and economy.

This year's theme, "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future," highlights the important role young women can play in driving innovation through Artificial Intelligence.

In line with this vision, the MDPA is proud to launch the 4th edition of the Girls in ICT Boot Camp under the theme "GenAI-ous Girls."

Through engaging, hands-on sessions, participants are discovering how Generative AI can support their educational journey, enhance creativity, strengthen digital skills, and build confidence to pursue further studies and careers in ICT.

📍 Zone 1 successfully kicked off on 20 & 21 July 2026 at Droopnath Ramphul State College, bringing together enthusiastic students eager to explore the exciting possibilities of AI.

We now look forward to welcoming participants from the remaining three zones over the coming days as we continue inspiring the next generation of digital innovators.
