Raksha Bandhan is a beautiful celebration of one of life’s most precious relationships. More than just the tying of a Rakhi, this auspicious occasion reminds us of love, protection, trust, respect and care, and the promise to always stand by one another through every stage of life.

The Rakhi represents a bond that goes far beyond a single day — a bond built on childhood memories, shared experiences, family values and the assurance that, no matter where life takes us, brothers and sisters will always have a special place in each other’s hearts.

It is also a day to cherish the memories we share with our siblings, appreciate their presence in our lives and strengthen the relationship that connects us.

Whether Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated today or tomorrow, what matters most is the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.

Shravan MahaUtsav at Poorneshwarnath Mandir, Ecroignard

On the occasion of Shravan MahaUtsav, the members of the Ecroignard Fayence Socio Cultural Group were very happy to take part in the weekly prayers held on Monday at Poorneshwarnath Mandir, Ecroignard.

As part of this auspicious occasion, our members came together to prepare and offer Maha Prasad, sharing a moment of devotion, togetherness and service.

The holy month of Shravan holds a special place in the Hindu calendar. It is a time dedicated to prayers and devotion to Lord Shiva, with devotees observing prayers and religious activities throughout the month, particularly on Mondays.

Although our group does not currently take part in the Yatra or undertake the construction of Kanwars, we believe that devotion can be expressed in many ways. Through personal prayers, participating in Betka, or joining prayers and religious gatherings at other places where we are invited, we are happy to contribute in our own humble way.

Perhaps next year, we may take the next step and explore the possibility of joining the Yatra as a group. It is something we will certainly think about.

We may not post very often, but please know that Ecroignard Fayence Socio Cultural Group is still very much active. Our members continue to meet, support one another and work together whenever there is an opportunity.

As we gradually approach the end of the year, our members are already looking ahead and preparing for the festive season, with more activities and gatherings to come.

A sincere thank you to all our members who continue to give their time, effort and support.

May Lord Shiva bless everyone with peace, happiness and prosperity.

BULKY WASTE COLLECTION – ECROIGNARD

The District Council of Flacq, in collaboration with the Village Council of Ecroignard, will carry out a Bulky Waste Collection from Tuesday 28 July to Saturday 1 August 2026, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

♻️ Residents are kindly requested to separate plastic, wood, paper, metal, old tyres and green waste, and place them neatly at the roadside to facilitate collection.

⚠️ Please note: Electrical and electronic waste will not be collected.

Let's all do our part to keep Ecroignard clean and green! 💚

Sa picnic-la ti enn moment rempli ar la joie, rire, danse, divertissement, defoulement ek bokou l'amusement. Seki pli important, se lesprit camaraderie ek fraternité ki finn regne tout au long de la journée.

Apres 7 ans, la grande famille Ecroignard Fayence Socio Cultural Group finn reussi retrouv li pou pas enn moment convivial ansam. Ti ena bann anciens membres, bann nouveaux membres, bann familles ek bann amis ki finn participe pou faire sa journée-la enn vrai succès.

Nou remercier tou dimounn ki finn faire déplacement, tou bann organisateurs, bann bénévoles ek tou ceux ki finn contribue, de près ou de loin, pou faire sa picnic-la vine enn souvenir inoubliable.

Sa journée-la inn rappel nou ki EFSGG pa zis enn association, mais enn grande famille unie par l'amitié, le respect ek l'esprit de partage.

Happy World Nurses Day

Today, the Ecroignard Fayence Socio Cultural Group pays tribute to all nurses and health workers for their dedication, compassion and sacrifice.

Day and night, through difficult moments and challenges, you continue to care for others with courage, patience and humanity. Your commitment towards saving lives and supporting families deserves the respect and gratitude of the whole community.

To all nurses, doctors, attendants, carers, ambulance staff and every person working in the health sector — thank you for your invaluable service.

We are also proud to say that within our own team and surroundings, we are blessed to have several health professionals who continuously serve society with dedication and professionalism. Notably Kunal, Nursing Officer, Dadi Sobron, Neetu, Kushal who is currently practising as a doctor in Germany together with his wife, and many others who contribute daily towards the wellbeing of people. We salute all of you with great pride and respect.

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we have learned of the passing of Anuksha Sobron, beloved sister of our close collaborator Suraj Sobron, and a cherished member of the wider Sobron family, to which many members of our group are closely connected.

This loss is not only that of a family, but one that is deeply felt across our entire community. In Ecroignard and Fayence, we are more than just neighbours—we are one family. Today, we mourn together.

Our thoughts are especially with the grieving parents, who are respected figures and pillars among our elders. No words can truly ease such pain, but we stand with you in this moment of profound sorrow. May you find strength, courage, and comfort in the love and support that surrounds you.
