The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Bunda campus and NRC campus is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for admission into its Economic Fee Paying and Mature
entry programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The Economic FeePaying programme is open to applicants starting from Year one, with 10 slots available for each program for both campuses, while Mature
Entry applicants are admitted into Year Two or Three depending on the programme requirements, with 15 slots available for each programme at Bunda campus and 20 slots available for each program at NRC campus.

Applicants are advised to only apply under one admission category, either Mature Entry or Economic Fee-Paying and select one campus only.

Applications submitted under more than one category or for multiple campuses will not be considered.

Candidates with a diploma with basic sciences, must have a cGPA of 2.5 or greater and must have worked for not less than two years in a relevant industry.

OR Candidates with diploma in Animal Production and Health or Veterinary Science with passes in: Chemistry, Biochemistry I, Biochemistry II, Statistics, Anatomy
and Physiology, Microbiology and Animal Health.

2026/2027 OPEN DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING (ODeL) TRAINING PROGRAMMES IN BACHELOR OF EDUCATION AT DOMASI AND NALIKULE COLLEGES OF EDUCATION

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) is inviting applications from suitably
qualified Malawians for studies in various Bachelor of Education Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic
year at Domasi and Nalikule Colleges of Education. These are four-year ODeL training programmes
leading, on successful completion, to the award of a Bachelor of Education degree.

While students will be required to mostly study at home through online platforms, they will at times attend
residential and examination sessions in college.

1. MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

a) CATEGORY A: SCHOOL LEAVERS AND T2 TEACHERS WHO ARE NOT SERVING IN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The eligible applicants should meet the following requirements:

i.Candidates MUST have MSCE, IGCSE, or O-Level certificate or its equivalent obtained in the past five years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025).

ii.Candidates with A-Level certificate or its equivalent obtained in the past five years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025).

iii.Candidates MUST have a minimum of six credit passes on their MSCE, IGCSE, or OLevel certificate or its equivalent, including a credit pass in English or English Language.

iv.Candidates MUST have a minimum of credit passes in the two teaching subjects they are applying for.

v.Candidates MUST not be more than 50 years of age.

vi.In addition to the above minimum entry requirements, candidates MUST also meet the requirements of the individual programme they are applying for as specified for each programme.

b) CATEGORY B: T2 TEACHERS SERVING IN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The eligible applicants should meet the following criteria:

i.Candidates MUST have a T2 teaching certificate.

ii.Candidates MUST have a minimum of 4 years teaching experience after obtaining their T2 teaching certificate.

iii.Candidates MUST have MSCE, IGCSE, or O-Level certificate or its equivalent with a minimum of six credit passes, including a credit pass in English or English Language.

iv.Candidates with A-Level certificate or its equivalent

v.Candidates MUST have a minimum of credit passes in the two teaching subjects they are applying for.

vi.Candidates MUST not be more than 50 years old at the time of application.

vii.Selection does not imply automatic granting of study leave, for which serving teachers MUST apply in line with guidelines and conditions governing this leave

Note: Candidates who are not serving in public primary schools must apply using requirements specified
in Category A

3. TRAINING CONDITIONS
a) Successful candidates will be required to pay tuition fee of Four hundred and Fifty Thousand Malawi Kwacha (MK450, 000.00) per academic year. However, the fee is subject to revision from time to time.

b) Every successful candidate shall be responsible for payment of Student ID Processing Fee of K20, 000.00, Student Affiliation Fee of K5, 000.00 per semester, and Medical Fee of K15, 000.00 per academic year.

c) Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Colleges will not be responsible for payment of any form of allowances or provision of any financial support to trainees during the entire period of training.

d) All candidates shall be selected as self-sponsored students. If you are successful, you shall be admitted on non-residential basis.

4. METHOD OF APPLICATION

a) All candidates MUST apply by filling in an admission application form sourced from this link:

b) Applicants should apply for a maximum of six programmes within one institution.

c) All candidates MUST attach a copy of their MSCE, IGCSE, O-Level certificate or its equivalent or A-Level certificate or its equivalentin their applications.

d) Additionally, T2 teachers serving in public primary schools MUST enclose copies of the following:

i) T2 Certificate

ii) Page 1 of GP1 Form and PSR 19; and

iii) A recommendation letter from their respective /DEYS/EDM/CEO

5. PROCESSING FEE
All applicants should pay a non-refundable processing fee of Fifteen Thousand Malawi Kwacha (K15, 000.00) after receiving an invoice from the application portal.

1. Constituency Assistant Accountant

· Grade: M8
· Reporting to: Director of Finance (DC’s Office)

Purpose:
To ensure sound financial management and accountability for CDF projects, including payment processing, record keeping, and performance-based financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare payment documents for contractors/service providers in liaison with the Directorate of Finance.
· Maintain accurate records of all constituency-level payments.
· Prepare and update constituency financial records and expenditure reports.
· Coordinate performance-based financial assessments.

2. Constituency Works Supervisor

· Grade: M8

Purpose:
To oversee planning, construction, repair, and maintenance of CDF-funded structures, ensuring quality control, efficient resource use, and compliance with Council standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Participate in project identification, appraisal, and consolidation of Constituency AIP.
· Conduct site inspections and liaise with contractors, DPW/DES.
· Report project progress and update the Project Management System platform.
· Support constituency-level assessments using the LAPA tool.
· Compile and submit monthly reports on construction/maintenance activities.

3. Constituency Assistant Procurement Officer

· Grade: M8
· Reporting to: Chief Procurement Officer (DC’s Office)

Purpose:
To support procurement and tendering processes for CDF projects, ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations, transparency, and efficient documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support tender processes, compliance checks, and procurement documentation.
· Prepare and maintain the constituency procurement plan.
· Source quotations and submit to the Local Authority’s Internal Procurement and Disposal Committee (IPDC) for approval.
· Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions and approvals.
· Prepare constituency-level procurement reports.
· Ensure constituency decision-making aligns with Malawi’s public finance and procurement framework.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Diploma in Procurement Management, Purchasing & Supply from a recognized Malawian institution.
· Minimum two years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management.
· Familiarity with public sector procurement procedures and CDF operations.

ENROLMENT INTO THE BACHELOR OF LAWS
(HONOURS) PROGRAMME

The School of Law, Economics and Government at the University of Malawi invites qualified candidates to apply for admission into the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - [LLB (Hons)] programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.

ADMISSION OPTIONS AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The programme has two entry options:

1. First year entry

2. Advanced entry into an appropriate year, subject to qualification assessment.

SELECTION PROCESS
Admission into the LLB (Hons) Programme is based on a selection exercise conducted by the School.

ELIGIBILITY FOR FIRST YEAR ENTRY
To qualify for the selection exercise, applicants must meet the following criteria:

A minimum of six credits (including English)
obtained in one sitting of:
• IGCSE,
• MSCE, or
• An equivalent examination system recognized by the National Council for Higher Education.

Additionally, applicants must satisfy one of the specified criteria outlined below:

SET A: INTERNAL CANDIDATES
To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

a) A cumulative credit average grade (or GPA of 3.00) after the first year of a degree programme at any
Malawian public university; or

b) Three A-Level passes with a minimum of two B grades and one C grade, obtained at one sitting.

SET B: EXTERNAL CANDIDATES
Eligible applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

a) A first degree with at least a credit from the University of Malawi or a university duly recognised by the National Council for Higher Education; or

b) A diploma in law with at least a credit, awarded by a tertiary institution affiliated with the University of malawi and recognised by the National Council for Higher
Education.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADVANCED ENTRY
An applicant may qualify for advanced entry into any stage of the LLB (Hons) programme if he or she meets both of the following conditions:

a) Is currently enrolled in a professional law degree programme in a University recognised by the National Council for Higher Education; and

b) Successfully passes an entry assessment exercise corresponding to their desired year of study.
