WITH OUR COMMUNITY LEADERS

Every strong community needs leaders who are committed to empowering their youth. Today, Nachikodowa CBO had the honor of meeting Chiefs and community members from Group Village Village Head Nyezelela, Traditional Authority Chikumbu in Mulanje District. Together we discussed 3 key issues: withdrawing young people from early marriages, encouraging school dropouts to return to school, and empowering parents to support their children's education journey.

We were joined by 10 Chiefs from Group Nyezelela including; Chief Makalaundi, Chief Mapsere, Chief Kuruwe and others. We were also blessed with the presence of almost 130 community members from different villages who came to be part of this important conversation. Their turnout shows how much the community cares about the future of our children.

At Nachikodowa CBO, we believe that when we engage parents, community leaders, and members together, we build a stronger foundation for our youth. Education and protection go hand in hand. Because a community that raises a child, raises a nation.

We thank all the Chiefs and community members for their dedication and commitment to building the future of youth in Mulanje. Let us keep working together to ensure no child is left behind.

WITH OUR SECONDARY SCHOOL SELECTEES!

Today was a great day at Nachikodowa CBO, We hosted 16 bright learners, boys and girls aged 13-16, from different villages and primary schools within our catchment area. These amazing students have just been selected to various secondary schools. The majority were selected to Dzenje Secondary School, 2 learners to Chinkhwaza Secondary School, and we are especially proud of 1 outstanding student, a 14-year-old boy who was selected to Robert Rose Secondary School in Mzimba. Congratulations to all of them!

The main purpose of the Peer Talk was to encourage them on their educational journey, empower them, and share important health information for teenagers. The session was facilitated by our , Lebohang Chagomelana, who also acted as a Role Model to the female pupils. Together we discussed key topics including; career guidance, the dangers of early child marriages, and teenage pregnancies. The learners participated actively and by the end of the session they felt guided, motivated, and ready for the next chapter.

As Nachikodowa CBO, we believe in the future of the youths in our community. Education is the foundation, and we are committed to walking with these learners every step of the way. The journey has just begun 👣

Parents, Chiefs, and Community Members: Let’s keep our children in school and protect them from early marriages. The future of Mulanje starts with educated youth. !

Big news from Nachikodowa CBO! 💚

Meet Lebohang Chagomerana A.K.A Lebo Nana, our newest internee.
Lebohang is a and she will be working alongside our staff and volunteers to uplift and improve health in our communities in Mulanje.

Through health education and community support, Lebohang will help us promote healthier families and children.

We believe investing in young leaders like Lebohang is investing in the future of our communities. We can’t wait to see the impact we’ll make together.

At Nachikodowa Community Based Organization, we are saying to child marriage in Mulanje. When girls are forced to marry early, they lose their right to education, health, and a chance to decide their own future. Child marriage also puts young mothers and their babies at risk and keeps families trapped in poverty.

Together with parents, teachers, local leaders, youth and even you, we can protect our children. Let’s keep girls in school, let boys and girls learn about their rights, and create communities where every child can grow, learn, and thrive. Your voice matters. Speak up and help us end child marriage.

THROUGH PLAY.

At Nachikodowa CBO, we believe that children learn best through play. Every game, every laugh, every song is a lesson in problem-solving, communication, and confidence.

The good news? Our community already has this beautiful habit of playing with children. We are helping parents and guardians see the behind it. When you play with your child, you are not just having fun. You are building their brain, their language, and their bond with you.

This week, the phone for 10 minutes. Sing, dance, kick a ball, or build with stones together. That 10 minutes is education.

Let’s keep playing. Let’s keep learning. Let’s keep raising strong children together 💛

That’s all it takes to keep a child writing, learning, and dreaming.

Many children in our communities are missing school because they lack basic materials. A pen. A book. Small things that make a big difference.

By the end of this term, Nachikodowa CBO wants to reach with pens and exercise books in T/A Chikumbu.

2. Donate MK300 = 1 ballpoint pen
3. Donate in bulk: 10 books = MK5,000 | 20 pens = MK6,000

No amount is too small. When we each give a little, we keep many children in school.

Today Nachikodowa CBO is joining the national commemoration at Matete Ground, TA Fukamapiri, Nkhata Bay District.

The event is being presided over by Hon. Minister Mary Thom Navicha, Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare.
