As big as the world is today, and for how many skateboard companies and shops there are, there surprisingly isn’t a huge skate influence in third world countries. Throughout our travels we have noticed the lack of proper, if any, skateboard gear amongst the youth in these impoverished regions. The youth in such countries struggle to cope with the challenges these places create. Our goal is to prov
ide underprivileged kids the opportunity to partake in skateboarding. It will encourage positive use of free time and provide an emotional and physical outlet from daily stressful disturbances. This fall we will be returning to Todos Santos by driving down the Pacific Coast to Baja. We are sending this letter to multiple skate and surf shops in Alaska and down the Pacific Northwest Coast, in hopes to receive donations for the cause; anything helps. These donations will be distributed through the Todos Santos School and The Palapa Society; a Mexican non- profit that offers several programs such as the Bridge-to-English Tudor program. On top of that, we are in touch with local Baja residents whom are both thrilled to coordinate an event(s) to properly distribute donated skate gear. There is currently one main skateboard park in El Pescadero and a new bowl in Las Tunas. These skate parks have previously had skateboard competitions and events, and plan to continue to do so in the future. We also hope to hand out as many donated items along the way. In order to take action, please pile up any donated gear, stickers, apparel, or goods and we will come pick it up on the coordinated date. Help us share the passion for skateboarding with those whom lack the gear to shred.
