Fire personnel responded to a fall off Mt Cristo Rey this morning.

A female in her 40s fell approximately 50 feet and sustained multiple injuries. Patient was found US Border Patrol El Paso Sector.

Patient was flown to the hospital by El Paso Fire Department Fire Star 1.

Last night fire personnel responded to the Family Dollar at 1673 McNutt Rd for an unknown odor. The odor was determined to be caused by a refrigeration malfunction. One patient was transported to the hospital for evaluation. 2 other patients refused transport.

A reminder to Stay safe City of Sunland Park, New Mexico! It’s time to Fall Back 1 hour on our clocks and time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms! Make sure to test your smoke alarms monthly and immediately replace the batteries if they start chirping! We fall back at 2AM on Sunday!

Make sure to replace smoke alarms that are 10 or more years old. They have reached their end of service at 10 years.

Fire personnel took part in a Bi-National Exercise at Monument 3 with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Juarez Fire Department. The exercise simulated a person stuck on top of the 30-foot high border fence. Agencies worked together to safely bring the person down.
