Conversation between a grand mother and a teenage grand daughter at my booth. They are looking at the toys and cat themed keychains that I sell.

Me: I am raising funds for the TNR community cats that we are helping and other feeders and shelters that require funds.

GM: I don't like cats.
GD: Grandma you cannot say that in front of aunty, that's very offending. She is helping cats.

I was speechless. Moral of the story, sometimes we adults need to relearn the values of compassion and empathy. If a young girl can say that, don't you think we adults should learn to reassess our thoughts and speech too. Just something for us to ponder on.

I stayed at a very quiet corner of the building so I will let Snowy lay there for a few seconds when I reached home as I put away my bags. She is such an angel, she will not step out of the forbidden line 😅 But it's not magical, this is months of kitty training. All my foster cats were trained to be the best before adoption.

But look at the last photo which breaks my heart every time I have to leave home for work. She will stay on the shoes cabinet and make this face 😥

I want to give her a better home with someone who can spend more time playing with her or maybe have another cat too. She is good with other cats and no issues with children and maybe even dogs as my neighbour have a dog and she is always curious with her. If any one who would like to open your hearts and homes to Snowy, please PM me. Please note you will be vetted by SAMA (Spay Adopt Manage Assist Society) before final adoption. This is to ensure the well being of all rescued cats that we helped.

How to BE A RESPONSIBLE Pet OWNER: NEUTER YOUR CATS and dogs 🐾

If you rescue a stray, please do the next most loving thing: GET THEM NEUTERED ASAP.

And this means BOTH MALES AND FEMALES.
Too many people only neuter the girls. But unneutered males will roam, fight, go missing, and get countless stray females pregnant.

females on heat? Don’t panic. The safest way is to keep them safely indoors, wait for the heat to finish, then book neutering right away.

Why neutering matters:
1. Saves lives: Females can get pyometra - a deadly womb infection if not spayed.
2. Stops suffering: Stray mums get pregnant over and over. They get exhausted, sick and many don’t survive from lack of food and care.
3. Stops the cycle: 1 unneutered male + 1 unneutered female = thousands of kittens or pups in a few years.

Please don’t let your pet have “just one litter” first.
There are already thousands of kittens on the streets of Penang waiting for homes. Your cat doesn’t need to give birth to be a mum. Bring home street kittens, she will love them just the same.
